Andy Hall of The Infamous Stringdusters and Roosevelt Collier of the Lee Boys have come together on a new album, Let The Steel Play, which is set for independent release June 16, 2017. Let the Steel Play was born out of a love of slide guitar, and a friendship made through music. Andy Hall and Roosevelt Collier met in 2012 on Jam Cruise, and began playing music together when their paths would cross. Both are sought after sit-in players at festivals throughout the country and known for their dexterity, versatility, and intuitive knack for picking up rhythms and melodies. (more...)

The newly announced show, a holiday offering during the downtown theatre's 42nd season, features songs by Irving Berlin and a book by Hershey Felder, with direction from longtime Felder collaborator Trevor Hay. The show's run begins on Wednesday, December 20, 2017 and plays through Sunday, January 7, 2018 with a press opening on Thursday, December 21, 2017 at 8 p.m. on the Lyceum Stage Theatre at San Diego REP in Horton Plaza. Tito Beveridge, owner and founder of Tito's Vodka, and all around Renaissance man, (from geophysicist to microdistilling pioneer,) wrote a play that was first produced in Austin, TX in September of 2015. That play then became a film directed by filmmaker Ty Roberts made with a small budget and stellar director and crew in Austin. The film is now picking up steam as it recently played at the  Sonoma Film Festival with Tito in attendance (who threw one hell of a film party with yes, lots of vodka.)
