MIDNIGHT IN THE GARDEN OF GOOD AND EVIL the 1994 iconic blockbuster book by John Berendt, which still holds a New York Times bestseller list record, is being developed into a new musical and will have an invitation only  industry reading on August 3rd and 4th, 2023 in New York City. The Paramount+ original series GREASE: RISE OF THE PINK LADIES has been canceled after one season. 

The collection includes 30 original songs created for the series plus “Grease Is the Word,” a modern take on the song “Grease,” which was written by Barry Gibb and performed by Frankie Valli and served as the opening track of the original film. Executive music producer and GRAMMY nominee songwriter Justin Tranter helmed the music and soundtrack.

To celebrate the series' premiere, Paramount+ has released the full first episode of Grease: Rise of the Pink Ladies for free as a video on YouTube. The episode features several new musical numbers, including an updated version of 'Grease is the Word.' The series features Jackie Hoffman, Marisa Davila, Cheyenne Isabel Wells, and more.

30 original songs will appear in Grease: Rise of the Pink Ladies over the course of its 10-episode premiere season. BroadwayWorld sat down with executive music producer and GRAMMY nominee Justin Tranter, who wrote the songs, each of which will soundtrack a dance number choreographed by Jamal Sims.

“New Cool,” which features the character Cynthia, played by Ari Notartomaso, and the T-Birds, is the first original song from the series to be released. “New Cool” is one of 30 original songs featured in season one of GREASE: RISE OF THE PINK LADIES, with executive music producer Justin Tranter at the helm.
