Producers Ira Pittelman and Tom Hulce announced today that the smash hit Broadway musical Ain't Too Proud - The Life and Times of The Temptations has set a new box office record at the Imperial Theatre (249 West 45th Street). Ain't Too Proud's gross for the week ending December 8, 2019, was $1,710,207.90 in the 1,424 seat theater, the highest for any week at the Imperial Theatre. Prior to Ain't Too Proud, Billy Elliot: The Musical held the house record ($1,663,895.00) set in January 2010.

Just last night, New York Stage and Film celebrated its annual Winter Gala, honoring six-time Tony Award-nominated producer and philanthropist Diana DiMenna, and Academy Award and four-time Golden Globe-nominated and Tony Award-winning actor and producer Tom Hulce. The Winter Gala, a fundraising event to support New York Stage and Film's year-round theater and film development initiatives, was held at The Ziegfeld Ballroom (141 West 54th Street, New York City).

Broadway's onstage best, most impressive ensembles and behind-the-scenes superstars will celebrate six weeks of dedicated fundraising at Red Bucket Follies at 4:30 pm on Monday, December 9, and at 2 pm Tuesday, December 10. The show is produced by and benefits Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS.

Ain't Too Proud - The Life and Times of The Temptations will kick off the 93rd Annual Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, alongside 'TODAY' show hosts Savannah Guthrie, Hoda Kotb, and Al Roker, with performances from the hit Broadway musical. The entire cast and band of Ain't Too Proud will perform a medley of 'Get Ready,' 'Ain't Too Proud To Beg,' and 'I Can't Get Next To You', which will air LIVE on NBC on Thursday, November 28 from 9 a.m. - noon (in all time zones).

It's been announced today that the Game of Thrones and Endeavour actor Roger Allam will lead a host of star names in a tribute show to celebrate one of the greatest playwrights of our generation - Peter Nichols: A Celebration will take place at Trafalgar Studios on Wednesday 27th November.

This holiday season, Times Square celebrates the creativity of Broadway designers and the power of live theater with four Show Globes. These globes feature designs inspired by some of the most-loved musicals on Broadway and invite passersby to admire the imagination and talent that give life to every show. The 2019 Show Globes are inspired by the designs of Ain't Too Proud a?" The Life and Times of The Temptations, Dear Evan Hansen, The Lion King, and Wicked.

The Times Square Alliance unveiled today the first holiday “Show Globes” in Times Square on the Broadway Plaza between 44th and 45th Streets. The event included remarks by the Alliance President, Tim Tompkins as well as representatives from each of the four Broadway shows. “Show Globes” will be on display in Times Square through December 26, 2019.

There was a celebration at the Imperial Theatre earlier this week as the company of Ain't Too Proud came together to celebrate the man behind the story, Otis Willimas. Otis, one of the founding members of the Temptations, turned 78 years old. Check out photos from the festivities below!
