The national tour of the Broadway musical MILLION DOLLAR QUARTET will celebrate the closing of its 4th season on the road on Sunday, June 28.  Inspired by the electrifying true story of four rock 'n' roll icons, MILLION DOLLAR QUARTET played over 60 cities in the last year from Anchorage and Oklahoma City to St. Louis and Buffalo, and will conclude at Vienna, VA's beautiful outdoor venue, Wolf Trap National Park for the Performing Arts. Stephen Daldry's hit production of Peter Morgan's The Audience will complete its run at the Apollo Theatre on 25 July 2015 as previously announced.  The production, starringKristin Scott Thomas as The Queen, opened in May to critical acclaim. The Audience - a play about the weekly meeting between the Queen and her Prime Ministers - has designs by Bob Crowley, with lighting by Rick Fisher, sound by Paul Arditti and music by Paul Englishby. Before Broadway celebrated hit jukebox bio-musicals like JERSEY BOYS, MOTOWN THE MUSICAL or even MILLION DOLLAR QUARTET, a little show opened in 1989 called BUDDY: THE BUDDY HOLLY STORY. Written about the famous singer's short-lived career as a successful twenty-something-old music icon with signature thick-rimmed glasses, BUDDY takes the audience on a rock-and-roll journey from the radio stations of Lubbock, Texas, all the way to New York's Apollo theatre, and eventually to his (spoiler alert) fateful plane ride. Although the Broadway production was short-lived, the show celebrated twelve years in London, and has had a successful life in regional and touring productions across the country. (more...)

Alex Turner Productions today announces the full cast for the UK premiere of Tennessee Williams' One Arm adapted for the stage by Moises Kaufman. Josh Seymour directs Joe Jameson (The Divinity Student), Georgia Kerr (The Girl in the French Quarter), Peter Hannah (The Guard), James Tucker (Lester) and Tom Varey (Ollie Olsen). The company members play multiple roles around the central character of Ollie Olsen - characters weaving through the complex tapestry of his life. The National Theatre's acclaimed production of The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time will welcome a new company next month with Sion Daniel Young joining the cast to play the lead role of Christopher Boone.  Based on Mark Haddon's award-winning novel and adapted by Simon Stephens, The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time is currently booking in the West End until 24 October 2015.  Rehearsals began today with the new Company who will begin performances at the Gielgud Theatre on 22 June 2015.  (more...)
