Alex Turner Productions today announces the full cast for the UK premiere of Tennessee Williams' One Arm adapted for the stage by Moises Kaufman. Josh Seymour directs Joe Jameson (The Divinity Student), Georgia Kerr (The Girl in the French Quarter), Peter Hannah (The Guard), James Tucker (Lester) and Tom Varey (Ollie Olsen). The company members play multiple roles around the central character of Ollie Olsen - characters weaving through the complex tapestry of his life. The production opens at Southwark Playhouse on 12 June, with previews from 10 June, and runs until 4 July. (more...)

The National Theatre's acclaimed production of The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time will welcome a new company next month with Sion Daniel Young joining the cast to play the lead role of Christopher Boone.  Based on Mark Haddon's award-winning novel and adapted by Simon Stephens, The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time is currently booking in the West End until 24 October 2015.  Rehearsals began today with the new Company who will begin performances at the Gielgud Theatre on 22 June 2015.  (more...)

Following the General Election, Peter Morgan has today (8 May 2015) updated his script for The Audience - a play about the weekly meeting between the Queen and her Prime Ministers - on the day HMQ invites David Cameron to form a new Government.  The updated scene between The Queen and David Cameron, played by Kristin Scott Thomas and Mark Dexter, will be performed for the first time at this evening's performance. Opening this weekend at the Apollo Civic Theater, Once Upon a Mattress, directed by Lauren Hugg and musically directed by Paul Cabell, tells the real story of the fairy tale "The Princess and the Pea". Not so long ago in a kingdom not so far away, evil Queen Aggravain has declared no one in the kingdom may be married until her precious Prince Dauntless finds a bride. However, the Queen devises seemingly more difficult tests for each Princess to pass and makes it almost impossible for Dauntless to find his true love, until an unusually bold and unrefined princess, Winnifred the Woebegone, arrives and may turn the classic fairy tale on its head when it appears the Princess must save the Prince. Dee Dee's Feathers, a journey through the history of New Orleans as told through song and the collaboration of Dee Dee Bridgewater, Irvin Mayfield & The New Orleans Jazz Orchestra (NOJO), is set for release August 11th, 2015, via OKeh/Sony Music/DDB Records. Recorded at New Orleans' Esplanade Studios, a studio in a reconverted historical church in the heart of the city that was badly damaged by Hurricane Katrina, the release of Dee Dee's Feathers will be accompanied by tour dates worldwide including stops at The New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival, North Sea Jazz Festival, Montreal Jazz Festival, the Barbican in London and New York City's famed Apollo Theatre on Halloween. Due to unforeseen circumstances, BRITANNIA WAVES THE RULES has pulled out of the 2015 Brits Off Broadway festival at 59E59 Theaters. Replacing the show is Godlight Theatre Company's production of COOL HAND LUKE, an adaptation of Donn Pearce's searing novel. This production is not part of Brits Off Broadway. COOL HAND LUKE is adapted for the stage by Emma Reeves and directed by Joe Tantalo. COOL HAND LUKE begins performances on Tuesday, May 5 for a limited engagement through Sunday, May 31. Press opening is Thursday, May 7 at 7:15 PM. The performance schedule is Tuesday - Thursday at 7:15 PM; Friday at 8:15 PM; Saturday at 2:15 PM & 8:15 PM; and Sunday at 3:15 PM. An adaptation by Olivier Award-winning playwright Simon Stephens of Ödon von Horvath's classic 1932 play Kasimir and Karoline, the production features a cast of 13 actors and actor-musicians.
