(9/2/2014) - The Public Theater begins performances for the world premiere of Bridget Everett's ROCK BOTTOM at Joe's Pub on Tuesday, September 9, beginning the 2014-15 downtown season at Astor Place. Created by Bridget Everett, Marc Shaiman, Scott Wittman, Adam "Ad-Rock" Horovitz, and Matt Ray, and directed by Scott Wittman, ROCK BOTTOM was originally commissioned as part of the Joe's Pub 2013 New York Voices series. This shockingly funny and moving new show will run through Saturday, October 11 at Joe's Pub, with an official press opening on Wednesday, September 17.

Both performances will be at 5 PM. The plays are all 6 minutes in length and set outdoors. The series was conceived by coproducers Jenny Gomez and Jessica Mazo. The aim of the Project is to provide a diverse set of artists with a comfortable platform where they can create, with full production support. 100% of the proceeds from ticket sales will be split evenly between all the playwrights, actors, and directors that have volunteered their time and talent for the project.

(9/2/2014) - Casting is announced today for a new version of Anton Chekhov's Uncle Vanya by multiple award-winning playwright Anya Reiss, premiering on Wednesday 8 October at St. James Theatre. Directed by Russell Bolam, Reiss' adaptation of Chekhov's masterpiece of modern theatre reignites the piece for a 21st century audience, revealing the universal difficulties of impossible love, longing and regret.
