Blue Room Arts Collective is pleased to announce a one-night only performance of BROOKLYN'S GOT CHARACTER[S] on Monday, September 27, 2010 at 8:00 pm at Galapagos Art Space at 16 Main Street, Brooklyn, NY, 11201. Doors open at 7 pm, and tickets are $15.

BROOKLYN'S GOT CHARACTER[S] is a unique concert event, featuring songs written about and inspired by the real people of Kings County. Brooklyn is New York City's most populous and (arguably) most diverse borough, and its people have long been famous in American culture, literature, and film for being bold, colorful, and full of personality. BROOKLYN'S GOT CHARACTER[S] will bring Brooklyn's rich and varied humanity to life in theatrical songs based on the lives, stories, and personalities of its residents.

BROOKLYN'S GOT CHARACTER[S] features the writing talents of some of New York City's most exciting emerging talent, including: Nathan Tysen and Chris Miller (The Burnt Part Boys), Joe Iconis (Things to Ruin, Bloodsong of Love), Tommy Newman (Band Geeks), Gaby Alter (Band Geeks), Daniel Maté and Will Aronson (The Trouble with Doug), Julianne Wick Davis (Wood), Rachel Jett, Brian Feinstein, Josh Kant and Liv Cummins, Roxanne Rodriguez and Andrew Elsesser, Samuel Piperato, Joshua H. Cohen, David Malamud and Rochelle Bright, Michael R. Jackson, Rachel Peters, Brett Macias and Caroline Murphy, Rob Baumgartner and Heidi Heilig, Tony Asaro, Tina Lear, Julia Meinwald and Rachel Jett, Shoshana Greenberg and Jeffrey Dennis Smith, Chae Lee, Matt Mezzacappa, James Cowperthwait and Scotty Arnold, and Erin Hunstader.

All writers are alumni of New York University's Graduate Musical Theatre Writing Program at the Tisch School of the Arts.
