Comedian Kurt Braunohler to Jet Ski from Chicago to New Orleans for Charity

Comedian Kurt Braunohler is set to embark on a mission later this month that he says may be "the dumbest way to make the world a better place." As part of "Roustabout," a new web series produced by Comedy Central Studios, Braunohler intends on Jet Skiing from Chicago to New Orleans. The goal of the trip is to raise $50,000 for Heifer International, which is enough to provide 500 goats and 1,000 chickens to African families in need.

Braunohler has had other experience raising money for "idiotic stunts," as he describes them. He used Kickstarter to raise $6,000 last year so that he could hire a skywriter to write "How do I land?" in the sky. Due to the response of that stunt, Braunohler decided to launch an IndieGogo campaign earlier this week titled, "Jet Ski for Goats."

Braunohler's trip starts on May 29 in Chicago, with a performance with Wyatt Cenac, a former Daily Show correspondent. He will make six more stops will follow before he arrived in New Orleans on June 5, where there will be a celebration show at One Eyed Jacks with comedian Kristen Schaal and others. "American Jet Ski," a six-episode installment with highlights from the trip, will premiere in July on cc.com. For more information visit Braunohler's website.
