It's usually around this time of year that the Hollywood Bowl announces their summer musical, and this year we haven't heard yet, officially... so we sent out our spies in Los Angeles to see what we could find out. It didn't take long to zero inon what we suspect will be announced very shortly. So, what musical would they choose after LES MISERABLES, GUYS & DOLLS, THE PRODUCERS, RENT, HAIR and last summer's SPAMALOT? Drumroll please... we believe that the Hollywood Bowl Musical will be A CHORUS LINE.

First announced back in 2009, BroadwayWorld.com broke news earlier this yearabout the long gestating BAT OUT OF HELL Musical - revealing exclusively thatmusician and producer Todd Rundgrenjoined the teamand that the show was hoping to make a 2016 world premiere in Toronto. Producers Michael Cohl and David Sonenberg have joined the project as co-producers, alongside the previously announced Elva Corrie.

According to a recent post by the A.R.T. the show already has plans for Broadway! The theatre auctioned off tickets to the show's opening night on Broadway as a part of its 2015 gala, teasing: 'See it in Cambridge before it heads to NYC!' Casting has not yet been announced, but a recent NYC workshop was led by Tony winner Jessie Mueller, Keala Settle, Bryce Pinkham, Christopher Fitzgerald, Barrett Wilbert Weed, and Eric Anderson.

When the Public Theatre announced HAMILTON's third extension earlier this month, rumors fizzled that the show would in fact transfer to Broadway in time for the 2015 Tony Awards eligibility cut off. Just today, however, the Public announced a special event for tomorrow afternoon, at which the 'HAMILTON creative team, producers and company along with the Public Theater staff at a special gathering to celebrate this new musical.' Confirming previously reported rumors, the new project will be a collaboration between Sondheim and contemporary American playwright David Ives. The project, whose title was not announced, will be based on two classic films by Spanish filmmaker Luis Buuel. The two separate films will be the basis for one complete story which the characters will exist in seamlessly. The first half will be based on The 1972 film 'The Discreet Charm of the Bourgeoisie' and the second half will be based on the 1962 film 'The Exterminating Angel.'
