According to a recent post by the A.R.T. the show already has plans for Broadway! The theatre auctioned off tickets to the show's opening night on Broadway as a part of its 2015 gala, teasing: 'See it in Cambridge before it heads to NYC!' When the Public Theatre announced HAMILTON's third extension earlier this month, rumors fizzled that the show would in fact transfer to Broadway in time for the 2015 Tony Awards eligibility cut off. Just today, however, the Public announced a special event for tomorrow afternoon, at which the 'HAMILTON creative team, producers and company along with the Public Theater staff at a special gathering to celebrate this new musical.' Confirming previously reported rumors, the new project will be a collaboration between Sondheim and contemporary American playwright David Ives. The project, whose title was not announced, will be based on two classic films by Spanish filmmaker Luis Buuel. The two separate films will be the basis for one complete story which the characters will exist in seamlessly. Emmy Award-winning actor Neil Patrick Harris, who will soon return to Broadway in Hedwig and the Angry Inch, is known to the theatre community as Tonys Host Extraordinaire, having hosted the ceremony a whopping four times. Harris was just honored at the Drama League's Winter Gala, and according to the New York Post, he revealed there that because of his Broadway commitments, he won't return to his hosting gig in 2014. He commented: 'Because of 'Hedwig,' I can't emcee the Tonys. But I can now be home with our two kids. Two-time Tony winner Sutton Foster starred in the Encores! Off-Center presentation of VIOLET back in July, and BroadwayWorld has just learned the the star will lead the show on Broadway in the Spring of 2014. According to Clyde Fitch Report, Close reportedly turned down the highly sought-after role of 'Helen Sinclair' in the upcoming stage adaptation of Woody Allen's BULLETS OVER BROADWAY, starring Zach Braff.
