AMERICAN PSYCHO, the American premiere of a new musical based on the novel by Bret Easton Ellis -- which celebrates the 25th anniversary of its publication this March -- began performances on Broadway at the Gerald Schoenfeld Theatre (236 West 45th Street) on Thursday, March 24, 2016. The Opening Night is Thursday, April 21, 2016. American Psycho has music, lyrics and orchestrations by Tony and Grammy Award-winner Duncan Sheik (Spring Awakening), and a book by Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa ("Supergirl," "Looking," "Glee"). Directed by Olivier Award winner Rupert Goold (King Charles III), AMERICAN PSYCHO has choreography by Tony Award nominee Lynne Page (La Cage Aux Folles). Benjamin Walker (Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson,The Choice) is cast in the lead role of Patrick Bateman. BroadwayWorld brings you a first look at the cast in action here!

Some of the fabulous performances from the 2016 Olivier Awards ceremony - including Imelda Staunton's Olivier-winning turn as Rose in GYPSY! Hosted by two-time Oliver Award winner Michael Ball, the ceremony featured incredible performances from Grammy and Tony Award winner Cyndi Lauper, Michael Feinstein, Joe Stilgoe and Jack Savoretti. For the finale, the awards welcomed back 15 past Olivier Award winners including Maria Friedman, Ruthie Henshall and Jill Halfpenny who performed What I Did For Love from A Chorus Line - winner of Best New Musical at the 1976 awards. Five-time Emmy Award nominee Jesse Tyler Ferguson ("Modern Family," The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee) makes his highly anticipated return to Broadway as nearly 40 outrageous characters in the smash hit comedy, FULLY COMMITTED by Becky Mode, directed by Tony nomineeJason Moore (Avenue Q, Pitch Perfect, Sisters). FULLY COMMITTED began performances on April 1 and officially opens Monday, April 25, 2016 on Broadway at the Lyceum Theatre. This is a strictly limited engagement through July 24, 2016. This week, MCC Theater's Miscast gala, an annual highlight of the New York Theater season, honored Oscar winning star of stage and screen and MCC alum Marisa Tomei. The gala featured show-stopping performances by Emmy Award nominee Tituss Burgess; Tony Award winners Lea Salonga and Linda Lavin; Tony Award nomineeKeala Settle; and stage and screen stars Aaron Tveit, Beth Behrs, Cynthia Erivo, Ana Villafañe, and Shanice Williams. Glenn Close (Norma Desmond),Michael Xavier (Joe Gillis), Siobhan Dillon (Betty Shaefer) and Fred Johanson (Max Von Mayerling) were joined by Andrew Lloyd Webber, Christopher Hampton and Dan Black on stage following the opening night performance of Andrew Lloyd Webber's Sunset Boulevard(4 April 2016). Musical theater writer and rabble rouser Joe Iconis recently brought his unique mash-up of showtune cabaret and rock and roll jamboree back to Feinstein's/54 Below. Joe and his merry band of musical theater punks roared their way through a set of Joe's incendiary songs, featuring classic tunes, new numbers, and works-in-progress. Paper Mill Playhouse's spring musical, Pump Boys and Dinettes, begins tonight, featuring James Barry (Jim), Gabe Bowling (Jackson), Julie Foldesi (Prudie), Jason Ostrowski (L.M.), Alysha Umphress (Rhetta) and Sam Weber(Eddie). Pump Boys and Dinettes is conceived and written by John Foley, Mark Hardwick, Debra Monk, Cass Morgan,John Schimmel and Jim Wann. Pump Boys and Dinettes will be directed by John Foley with choreography by JoAnn M. Hunter. Pump Boys and Dinettes will run eight times a week at the Millburn, New Jersey, theater through May 1, 2016. The official press opening night is Sunday, April 10, at 7:00pm. The Old Globe presents Nick Payne's Broadway hit play CONSTELLATIONS, arriving April 9, directed by the Globe's own Richard Seer. Christian Coulson and Victoria Frings will star in the two-person play. CONSTELLATIONS will run April 9 through May 8, 2016, in the Sheryl and Harvey White Theatre, part of the Conrad Prebys Theatre Center. This week in NYC, Jeffrey Kalinsky of Jeffrey New York and host Andrew Rannells celebrated the 13th Annual Jeffrey Fashion Cares Fundraiser. Joel Grey presented Peter Staley with the 2016 Jeffrey Cares Leadership Award. All proceeds from the event benefit ACRIA, the Hetrick- Martin Institute (HMI) and Lambda Legal. Producer Riki Kane Larimer presents the new hit Off-Broadway musical, Cagney with book by Peter Colley and music & lyrics by Robert Creighton and Christopher McGovern. Directed by Bill Castellino, and with choreography by Joshua Bergasse, and music direction by Matt Perri, the six-member cast stars Broadway veteran and hoofer Robert Creighton as the legendary James Cagney, with Jeremy Benton, Danette Holden,Bruce Sabath, Josh Walden, and Ellen Zolezzi.Performances began March 16, 2016 for an open-ended engagement at The Westside Theatre - Upstairs (407 West 43rd Street).
