It's not every day that Broadway actors get to perform for the President of the United States. But the HAMILTON cast got just such a privilege on Saturday afternoon, as BroadwayWorld previously reported. Now a day later, they are still glowing.

"He said it lived up to the hype," White House spokesman Eric Schultz said of Barack Obama's take on the musical, adding that Obama found it "fabulous."

BroadwayWorld previously quoted HAMILTON writer/star Lin-Manuel Miranda first impression Tweets following the matinee attended by Obama and his daughters. Though he usually stars in the show, Miranda had already made plans to watch his musical on Saturday afternoon as part of his pre-opening evaluation process, as BroadwayWorld previously reported.

"It felt fitting to get to watch the show with the president and his family in attendance," Miranda told the New York Times. "I don't know if I'll ever have a thrill like it again." 'Alexander Hamilton' alternate Javier Muñoz had the honor of performing as 'Alexander Hamilton' for Barack Obama in Miranda's absence.

Ron Cherno, author of the book Alexander Hamilton which inspired Miranda's musical, sees Obama's attendance as the icing on the cake.

"Everything that could have happened for this show has happened, and today is the capstone," he said before the performance, according to the New York Times. "From the beginning, I've really felt like this show has had 'Obama's America' written all over it."

As for the performers on stage, director Thomas Kail had already given them a pep talk before the show. "To honor him and the show, you just do the show and let him be a father here with his two daughters."

Actor Jonathan Groff, who portrays 'King George' says he was nervous before the "completely surreal" performance, "I had butterflies in my stomach." Renée Elise Goldsberry ('Angelica Schuyler') felt a similar way when the show began. "My breath at the start of the show was in my neck," she said. "Fortunately, there was a lot of prayer happening before."

Kail also says that the First Family definitely brought a unique energy to the Richard Rodgers Theatre. "[Obama's presence] put a charge in the atmosphere. It was palpable."

"It was a real kick to see the first three presidents of the United States onstage while sitting with the current president," Miranda concludes. "He's in that line."

Michelle Obama was not in attendance, presumably because she saw HAMILTON during its run at the Public Theatre. Click here to check out pictures of the First Lady with the cast!

HAMILTON is inspired by the book Alexander Hamilton by Ron Chernow and features book, music, and lyrics by Lin-Manuel Miranda, choreography by Andy Blankenbuehler and direction byThomas Kail, who previously collaborated on IN THE HEIGHTS.

The new musical follows the scrappy young immigrant who forever changed America: Alexander Hamilton. Tony and Grammy Award winner Lin-Manuel Miranda wields his pen and takes the stage as the unlikely founding father determined to make his mark on a new nation as hungry and ambitious as he is. From bastard orphan to Washington's right hand man, rebel to war hero, loving husband caught in the country's first sex scandal to Treasury head who made an untrusting world believe in the American economy, Hamilton is an exploration of a political mastermind. George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Eliza Hamilton, and lifelong Hamilton friend and foe, Aaron Burr, all attend this revolutionary tale of America's fiery past told through the sounds of the ever-changing nation we've become. Tony Award nominee Thomas Kail directs this new musical about taking your shot, speaking your mind, and turning the world upside down.
