Review: The Way, The Truth and The Life, Oran Mor
Scotland: Natalie O'Donoghue on June 02, 2024

Mary has a job to do and no time for regrets. But Jim wants them both to not look back in anger. As they share sandwiches, old rifts reveal themselves, but can they both really move on and leave the past behind?

RENT Sheds Light On Those Intimidated, Ignorant About HIV/AIDS
Philippines: Jude Cartalaba on June 02, 2024

RENT, the late Jonathan Larson's masterpiece, was a cultural sensation in 1996, winning the Tony Award for Best Musical and a Pulitzer for Drama. But does it still resonate with today’s younger audiences?

REVIEW: Kym Vaitiekus shares his thoughts on LIMBO THE RETURN
Australia - Sydney: Jade Kops on June 02, 2024

LIMBO THE RETURN, as its namesake, is here to once again wow you with another circus cabaret. This is an accomplished show that combines circus/acrobatics with the eclectic music of a passionate band, all led by with Director Scott Maidment’s artistic vision.

Review: Jimmie Herrod's Beautiful COLOR & LIGHT at 54 Below
Cabaret: Analisa Bell on June 01, 2024

Last Friday, May 24, the audience at 54 Below was treated to the beautiful, dulcet tones of America’s Got Talent finalist, Jimmie Herrod with COLOR & LIGHT. This reviewer loved seeing just how much Herrod was enjoying himself on stage. He performed with such ease and grace and communicated so effortlessly with his bandmates. It was a joy to watch!

Review: THE CHASE: A LIGHTBRINGER STORY at Off Broadway Palm
Ft. Myers/Naples: Fran Thomas on June 01, 2024

Review: A CASE FOR THE EXISTENCE OF GOD at Stages Houston
Houston: Brett Cullum on June 01, 2024

Intimacy is one of STAGES THEATRE’s core values. And they should point to this anytime they want to proclaim proof of it. You can’t do this in a larger space. Nobody else in town could pull this off. It is a prime example of what this company does best.

Review: RUNAWAY PRINCESS: A HOPEFUL TALE OF HEROIN, HOOKING, AND HAPPINESS at Off Broadway Palm
Ft. Myers/Naples: Fran Thomas on June 01, 2024

What did our critic think of RUNAWAY PRINCESS: A HOPEFUL TALE OF HEROIN, HOOKING, AND HAPPINESS at Off Broadway Palm?

Review: THE COMEDY OF ERRORS at Gamut Theatre Group's Harrisburg Shakespeare Company
Central Pennsylvania: Andrea Stephenson on June 01, 2024

This delightful comedy, directed by Kelli Kauterman, is the perfect way to kick off the summer season. The cast doesn’t miss a beat. It is not easy to perform outside, surrounded by a host of distractions and noise, but this cast is fully engaged in their characters and the story, and they bring the audience along for the ride.

Review: ANGELS IN AMERICA-PART ONE at EPAC
Central Pennsylvania: Rich Mehrenberg on June 01, 2024

While theater often manages to entertain or to move its audience, Angles in America is a great example of how quality theater can also educate....upon hearing Kushner’s masterful dialogue and viewing Checchia’s excellently vulgar and vile performance (of Roy Cohn), I was incentivized to learn everything that I could about this man and the damage that he has done.

Review: WE WILL ROCK YOU at Downtown Cabaret Theatre
Connecticut: Sean Fallon on June 01, 2024

On Friday, May 31st, I had the pleasure of seeing the phenomenal musical WE WILL ROCK YOU at the Downtown Cabaret Theatre in Bridgeport, CT. This is neither a tribute concert to Queen nor a biography of their lives. Rather, the concept is similar to Mamma Mia! in that the show is a fictional story built around the music of one specific music group, in this case, Queen. Playwright Ben Elton, however, has written a storyline that digs much deeper. Director Andrea Pane, with Assistant Director Carly Jurman, Musical Director Mark Ceppetelli, and Choreographer Olivia Rivera bring out the best in this first-rate cast!

Review: Tampa Repertory Theatre's Astonishing NEXT TO NORMAL
Tampa/St. Petersburg: Peter Nason on June 01, 2024

It's a show that's all aces, where the stellar cast, crew, music, and important storyline all come together to earn every standing ovation it will receive.

Review: FAT HAM at The Old Globe
San Diego: ErinMarie Reiter on June 01, 2024

'Fat Ham' is a dynamic, tragic, and comedic, remixing key moments of the original into a one-act exploring societal roles and expectations, toxic family dynamics, and being true to yourself in a wholly entertaining and creative way. “Fat Ham” is playing at the Old Globe through June 23rd.

To close out their 2023-2024 Series, Segerstrom Center welcomed theater aficionado Seth Rudetsky to serve as an interviewer/pianist for Tony Award winner Lillias White for three shows May 16-18, 2024 in one of the most incredibly wonderful, fan-favoring shows that the OC arts campus has ever hosted at the intimate Samueli Theater in Costa Mesa, CA.
