An exceptional gathering of choruses, beginning May 24 and 25 with seven concerts in the nation’s capital, will be part of WorldPride, which organizers say is occurring at a crucial time, bringing together people from around the world to support the LGBTQ+ community’s ongoing fight for equality, visibility, and justice.
Gay Men’s Chorus of Washington DC is presenting the International Choral Festival that will be the Arts & Culture Marquee Event for WorldPride 2025. The performances will commence Saturday, May 24 at 1pm at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, 301 A St., SE, in Washington with singers from Rock Creek Singers, New Wave Singers of Baltimore, and Not What You Think.
The entire series will include 50 concerts at 25 venues with 30 choruses over 16 days (May 24–June 8). The full schedule is available at www.gmcw.org/world-pride-international-choral-festival/.
The Festival’s first weekend includes the area premiere of A Peacock Among Pigeons, which tells the tale of learning how to stand out when you can't fit in.
The Festival promises to bring the DC metro area to life with daily hour-long pop-up performances showcasing the power, pride, and diversity of queer choral music.
All events for the International Choral Festival are free and open to the public. However, Premium Passes are available to purchase, which will allow premium access and/or reserved seating to most of the choral events.
