The Gorilla Theatre announces auditions for the Young Dramatists' Project (YDP) ‘10. Now in its tenth year, YDP is a playwriting competition open to all middle and high school-aged students in the Tampa Bay area. The world premiere of the five winning scripts by five up-and-coming student playwrights will occur June 3-13, as the official close of the Gorilla Theatre's 2009-2010 season.
Actors of all ages and types are invited to audition for YDP. We regret the Gorilla Theatre cannot offer Equity contracts for this project. Actors who are cast in the project will receive a generous stipend for their participation.
CASTING REQUIREMENTS
Male and female actors, all types, age teen to middle age
Actors must be available to rehearse evenings and weekends during the month of May.
Actors must be willing to play multiple roles if cast.
PRODUCTION INFORMATION
Eight performances: June 3, 4, 5, 6, 10, 11, 12, 13
Two possible additional performances, at producers' discretion, on June 6 and/or June 10 (in which case those would be double performance days) with a minimum of one week's notice.
One preview performance (benefit for Sierra Club Inner City Outings) June 2.
Rehearsals: Evenings and weekends in the month of May
Compensation: Actors will receive a generous stipend.

AUDITION REQUIREMENTS
Prepare one contemporary monologue (comic or dramatic) between one and two minutes in length.
Bring to the audition:
SIX copies of your resume
SIX headshots or recent snapshots (please make sure these are firmly attached to your resumes)
A COMPLETE list of any and all conflicts for the month of May.
We will do our best to accommodate all stated scheduling conflicts. However, no conflicts will be accepted for the last two weeks of rehearsal or for any of the performances.
