FLYING BANTU BAND at Alexander Bar, Café and Theatre

Flying Bantu Band is an Afro-Fusion act right from underneath the magical spray of the mighty Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe. Comprising vocalist and songwriter Tinashe Maoneni, guitarist Amkela Moyo, bassist Bongani Ngema and drummer Sam Gulubane, Flying Bantu's unique fusion of rock, reggae, funk and jazz along with a traditional African signature will make for an indulgent and meaningful listening experience at the Alexander Upstairs this Spring. Here to play at Rocking The Daisies for the second year in a row, Flying Bantu Band is fresh on the Cape Town scene and ready to delight hearts and ears with the warm and uplifting sound. Together, the five band members exude energy and an irrepressible Southern African flavour as they sing about being human, being African, and everything in between, both beautifying and challenging humanity's complex existence.
