Now that Natasha, Pierre & the Great Comet of 1812 has played its final performance on Broadway, plans for other productions could be in the works for the gleaming musical spectacle.

Natasha, Pierre, and the Great Comet of 1812 will play its final performance tomorrow, Sunday September 3. The show has announced via Twitter that all rush tickets for the final performance have been sold.

Natasha, Pierre, and the Great Comet of 1812 closes today, September 3. The twelve-time Tony nominated new musical concludes its run just weeks after the controversy of replacing Okieriete Onaodowan with Mandy Patinkin - who withdrew from the production following public outcry.

Actor Mandy Patinkin is taking over the role of Pierre in the critically acclaimed Broadway musical NATASHA, PIERRE & THE GREAT COMET OF 1812. The actor stopped by this morning's TODAY to share that he felt the show was “so infectious” he had to be part of it.

So what happened to Oak? Producer Howard Kagan explains: 'This continues our show's remarkable history of having great actors and singers see the show as audience members, only to tell us they are inspired to join the cast! Whenever possible we will accommodate them as we did here with Mandy and his Homeland TV schedule. Oak, who was scheduled to appear as Pierre for this period graciously agreed to make room for Mandy, and we sincerely hope that Oak will return to us in the fall or winter. He is a terrific Pierre.'

The Imperial is no stranger to accomplished musicians, but it's no doubt that GREAT COMET has brought a whole new level of musical genius to the stage. Ingrid Michaelson has more than one reason to celebrate this summer. Following the release of her latest EP, Alter Egos, the multi-platinum recording artist is calling the Imperial Theatre home, playing Sonya in the Tony Award-winning musical NATASHA, PIERRE & THE GREAT COMET OF 1812. Michaelson's trip to Imperial Russia will be brief, as the songstress will only be performing the role through August 15, while Brittain Ashford, who originated the role takes a temporary leave from the show.
