Last night's AMERICAN IDOL on FOX earned a series ratings low, delivering only 11 million viewers overall for its Thursday night broadcast. Even more surprising, the show only scored a 2.5 rating among the all-important adults 18-49 demographic, representing a 7 percent dip from last week's show.

FOX's week was propelled by strong performances from AMERICAN IDOL, BONES, THE FOLLOWING, HELL'S KITCHEN and GLEE, leading the network to rank No. 1 for the week among Adults 18-49, Adults 18-34 and Teens. On Monday, The Following ranked as the highest-rated drama of the night among Adults 18-49, while Bones and The Following tied as the No. 1 drama of the night among Adults 18-34. On Tuesday, HELL'S KITCHEN grew +11% among Adults 18-49 versus the previous week. American Idol was up week-to-week on both Wednesday and Thursday's telecasts and won its fourteenth consecutive Wednesday night among Adults 18-49, Adults 18-34 and Teens. Also on Thursday, Glee led its time period among Adults 18-34 and Teens.
