The excellent Top 8 rocked out songs that paid tribute to Motor City tonight. Detroit native and Motown legend Smokey Robinson was on hand to mentor our contestants and give tips on how they could best perform. Check out all the performances below!
Amber, Angie, Burnell, Candice, Devin, Janelle, Kree & Lazaro were all star-struck when meeting the iconic front man of The Miracles. Smokey was kind, dealing out amazing advice that the contestants really took to heart.
The Top 8 performance show also marked the first time this season that the contestants teamed up in duos and trios on a performance night. Kree and Janelle sang Madonna's "Like a Prayer," Amber, Angie and Candice teamed up to perform The Temptation's "I'm Going to Make You Love Me," and Burnell, Devin and Lazaro got together to take on "I Can't Help Myself (Sugar Pie Honey Bunch)" by The Four Tops.
