The 10-time Tony Award-winning Best Musical, The Band's Visit, welcomes award-winning Israeli actor Sasson Gabay to the company in his Broadway debut. Starting Tuesday, June 26 Gabay will reprise the character he created in the 2007 film on which the musical is based.

The Actors Fund announces today a special screening of the 2007 film The Band's Visit, in partnership with the Jacob Burns Film Center (JBFC) as part of their ongoing film series, "Life on the Stage: Conversation and Film." The screening will be followed by a Q&A with the creative team of the 10-time Tony Award-winning musical adaptation.

The Band's Visit was the big winner at the 72nd Annual Tony Awards on Sunday night. Not only did the show sweep the ceremony with ten wins, but it found a place in history with some of Broadway's most awarded musicals. Did you know...

It was quite the eventful night for THE BAND'S VISIT. The show won Tonys in 10 of the 11 categories for which it was nominated, including the biggest prize of the evening, Best Musical. However, trophies weren't the only things to be excited about, as in the press room a long wafting rumor was confirmed as we learned that Israeli actor Sasson Gabai would be taking over the role that won Tony Shalhoub a Tony award beginning on June 26.

The North American Tour of The Band's Visit will launch in Providence, Rhode Island in June 2019. Exact dates and additional cities will be announced at a later date. The show's producers also announced today that a new block of tickets for The Band's Visit are now on sale through Sunday, February 17, 2019.

It may be true that in love and music, all is fair, but having a legal license helps! Theatrical licensor Music Theatre International (MTI) has secured licensing rights to the Broadway hit, The Band's Visit.

Last night, the company of The Band's Visit (including Tony Award nominees Katrina Lenk and Ari'el Stachel), and the musical's on stage Alexandria Ceremonial Police Orchestra (George Abud, Ossama Farouk, Sam Sadigursky, Harvey Valdesand Garo Yellin) invited the real life NYPD Ceremonial Police Band (under the direction of Lieutenant Tony Giorgio). The band attended the performance, and then joined in on stage to play a song together.

THE BAND'S VISIT plays its 200th Broadway performance on Friday, May 4, 2018, which would have been Umm Kulthum's 114th Birthday. Check out photos from the celebration below!
