The Broadway revival of Carousel shared some exciting news on Twitter this evening, as they shared a behind the scenes look of the cast in the recording studio prepping to capture this exquisite revival for all time on its very own cast recording. It wasn't long ago that Joshua Henry, who recently starred in the original Chicago company of Hamilton, brought us #HamJams- his own versions of Lin-Manuel Miranda's tunes. Now he's playing Billy Bigelow in Carousel (a performance for which he just earned his third Tony nomination) and he's mixing up the music of Rodgers and Hammerstein!

When the lights went down at Thalia Mara Hall on May 3rd before the band began playing, the silence seemed to be electrified. Once the Jackson, MS performance by Celtic Woman's Homecoming tour got underway, however, it was apparent that no one in the audience wanted that silence to return. Closing out Thalia Mara's 2017/2018 season, the production ended the year's events with a performance well-deserving of the standing ovation received.

The company of Carousel had reason to celebrate this week, as the show picked up eleven Tony nominations. One of them went to the outstanding choreography of Justin Peck, who makes his Broadway debut with this piece. Watch as the company brings his vision to life on the Imperial stage below!

Carousel and The Actors Fund announced today that the new hit revival of Rodgers & Hammerstein's classic musical will host a special Mondaymatinee performace on Monday, May 14, 2018 at 3:00 PM at the Imperial Theatre (249 West 45th St.), with proceeds to benefit The Actors Fund.

The box office of the Imperial Theatre (249 West 45th Street) opens today at 10 a.m. for Rodgers & Hammerstein's classic musical Carousel. Simultaneously, a cast of 39 assembles for the first day of rehearsal under the direction of three-time Tony Award winner Jack O'Brien and choreography by Justin Peck for this most deeply anticipated production of the new season which begins preview performances on Wednesday, February 28 and officially opens on Thursday, April 12.
