They say the show must go on. Such was the case Saturday night when THE CHOIR OF MAN'S truck broke down and showed up in Durham at 7:10 p.m. for an 8:00 p.m. show. Nevertheless, the cast handled the mishap in true CHOIR OF MAN style, greeting the audience in the lobby while the set was being loaded in, taking selfies, and warming up the crowd. Once the doors to the seating area opened, the cast invited audience members up on stage for a pint and a bit of conversation. Clearly, there is no fourth wall among friends, but do all these pre-show theatrics make for a good show? You bet.

“Ahora Sigo Yo” literally translates to “It's my turn now.” And the title fits when it comes to Stevie D being the next big Chicano singing sensation. However, the lyrics to the title song of his latest compact disc album are about going from being scorned to finding love.

???????Mary Black, Ireland's premiere female singer, has tried to retire from touring since she announced her "Last Call" tour in 2014.  Since that time, she's performed all over the world-the United States, Europe, the United Kingdom, Japan, Australia and her native Ireland-but there are places that keep calling her back one more time.  Such is the case with the U.S., which embraced her ground-breaking international hit album NO FRONTIERS back in 1989 and established Mary Black as a major concert attraction in America and beyond.

The virtue of Byhalia, Mississippi lies precisely in its modesty. It prescribes no rules, apart from loving one another and telling the truth, for getting through a marital and race-inflected social crisis in a small town; it simply shows how one not-overwhelmingly admirable couple does it. And at that, the true secret here may just be the jokes. Those, and the blackout line at the very end of the play, which just may bring a lump to the throat.

Actors Co-op Theatre Company presents the Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award nominated drama A WALK IN THE WOODS, written in 1988 by playwright Lee Blessing. The witty two-hander concerns a relationship between two arms negotiators, one Russian and one American, and what happens when they step out of the war room and into the woods above Geneva, Switzerland, during a year of negotiations. Although the two eventually develop a friendly relationship, their personalities certainly differ in that the American is formal and idealistic while the Russian is easily led off topic and very pessimistic that any agreement will ever amount to any changes in the escalating arms race.
