The Scottish Society of Playwrights (SSP) has announced that the 2024 Hector MacMillan Award for Best New Scottish Play—affectionately known as “The Hector”—has been awarded to Douglas Maxwell for his acclaimed play So Young. Second Stage Theatre’s 43rd Street off-Broadway house, right near 8th Avenue, recently changed hands and is now the home of Studio Seaview . Seaview’s first production in the space is Angry Alan, starring John Krasinski. They have renovated and updated the space since Second Stage switched off-Broadway locations to now present shows at the Signature.

Last week, legendary rock and roll band, AC/DC played a long-awaited sold out show in Vancouver as part of the North American leg of their POWER UP 2025 concert tour. Marking their first tour in nearly a decade, the iconic Australian band played a setlist filled with some of their most popular songs, reigniting the fire and love for rock and roll in British Columbia. The Virginia Theatre Festival has announced the cast and creative team for its upcoming production of playwright Lloyd Suh’s The Heart Sellers. The Heart Sellers will run from July 11-July 20 and will be directed by Desdemona Chiang, who returns to VTF, where she directed Harvey in 2018.

HEART has announced an additional run of dates as their tour continues. This highly anticipated next leg will see the band embark on August 8 at the Gorge Amphitheatre in Quincy, WA and continue through August 30 at the Bethel Woods Center for the Arts in Bethel, NY.
