TDF, the not-for-profit organization for the performing arts formerly known as Theatre Development Fund, has welcomed a new Chair of the Board of Trustees: H. Gwen Marcus. The announcement was made by TDF’s current Chair, Earl D. Weiner, who has held the position since November 2008.

Kicking off at the Beacon Theatre in New York City on Wednesday 2 November, ‘Stories of Surrender’ will make stops in Boston, Toronto, Chicago, Nashville, San Francisco, Los Angeles, London, Glasgow, Manchester, Berlin, Paris—and Bono’s hometown of Dublin— before wrapping on Monday 28 November in Madrid.

Hammer Theatre Center will launch its sizzling Black Cab Jazz series with Malian guitarist Habib Koité, one of Africa’s most popular and recognized musicians. Habib Koité will be presented 7:00pm, Sunday, November 6, 2022, at the Hammer4 Studio.

TimeLine Theatre Company’s 2022-23 season will continue this fall with the landmark classic Trouble in Mind by Alice Childress, directed by TimeLine Company Member Ron OJ Parson, running November 2 – December 18, 2022.

The ultimate UK talent contest for young classical performers, BBC Young Musician returns to BBC Four, Radio 3, iPlayer and Sounds this October for its 23rd instalment. 

Director Sidney Lumet followed a string of Oscar®-winning 1970s classics with this lavish adaptation of the popular Broadway musical The Wiz, noted for its lively score and all-Black cast.  The Academy Museum’s first anniversary screening of The Wiz will feature live dance performances by the Debbie Allen Dance Studio youth performers.

Artemisia Theatre will present the world premiere of Title X, a searing and powerful play about the the struggle for abortion rights in America, November 25 - December 18, 2022 at Theater Wit.

Seattle Center Festál will continue with Sea Mar Fiestas Patrias at the Seattle Center Armory Food & Event Hall and Fisher Pavilion from 1-7 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 17, and 1-6 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 18. The festival celebrates the liberation from Spain for Mexico, Chile, Panama, Peru, and Guatemala, as well as Latino cultures which expand to the Caribbean. 

Veteran Twin Cities actor JC Cutler is starring in Six Points Theater's production of Uncle Philip's Coat, written by playwright Matty Selman. This play, a solo performance piece, opens October 22 and runs through November 13. 

The Ancram Opera House, in collaboration with Playhouse Creatures Theatre Company, presents STILL LIFE,  by internationally renowned playwright, director and producer Emily Mann, and directed by Mann's good friend and protegee, Jade King Carroll, who was recently appointed Producing Artistic Director of Chautauqua Theater Company.
