Hennepin Theatre Trust has announced the 2023-2024 Bank of America Broadway on Hennepin season, which will include a 15-week lineup of the newest and hottest touring productions featuring six Minnesota premieres and three returning favorites.

Falsettos, a primarily sung-through musical was written by William Finn and James Lapine and features two one-act installments March of the Falsettos and Falsettoland. The aforementioned are the last two additions to a trio of one-act musicals by Finn and Lapine, the other being called In Trousers.

Audiences are buying tickets closer to the actual show date - but that doesn’t necessarily mean they’re making the decision to see the show late. In a post-COVID era, audiences are more attuned to the fact that things can shift, and so in an effort to protect themselves from navigating a cancellation, they’re waiting to purchase their tickets.

Denver Center for the Performing Arts Broadway and Cabaret announce the new, bigger, brighter and bolder 2023/2024 season. Subscription shows include 1776, Jagged Little Pill, Beetlejuice, TINA – The Tina Turner Musical, SIX, Message In A Bottle, MJ and Company, with Denver favorites:  The Book of Mormon, Disney's Aladdin, Les Misérables, Wicked and many more as added attractions.

In the 1970s the biggest comedy show on television was ITV’s The Comedians. And the breakout star, the one who shone brightest of all… was Charlie. Eh Up Me Old Flowers is written by Chris England, whose stage writing includes two plays that began life at the Edinburgh Fringe. The play will run at Edinburgh Fringe from 8-29 August.

Steppenwolf Theatre Company, the nation’s premier ensemble theater company, is opening its stunning new in-the-round Ensemble Theater in Honor of Helen Zell with ensemble member Yasen Peyankov’s extraordinarily funny and lyrical adaptation of Anton Chekhov’s Seagull, April 28–June 12, 2022.

Picasso at the Lapin Agile was written by actor, comedian, and frequent host of Saturday Night Live, Steve Martin. The play won the Outer Critics Circle Award for Best Off Broadway Play in 1996 and has been performed by theatres across the country.  

Hundreds of cultural organisations have received a share of the final £35 million emergency support package from the Culture Recovery Fund, to help overcome the challenges of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Ensemble Theatre Cincinnati (ETC) will present two one-act productions with the newly commissioned world premiere of I Shall Not Be Moved followed by the return of Your Negro Tour Guide, which has been revamped since it last appeared on ETC’s stage in 2010.
