A bold, mime-inspired reimagining of a canonical literary text, THEATRE SMITH-GILMOUR has announced its original, audacious production of METAMORPHOSES 2023, adapted from the legendary epic poem by Ovid for the stage and directed by Michele Smith.

This collection - co-produced almost entirely by Polachek and Danny L. Harle - experiments with melodies & sounds less familiar in the pop mainstream, from the Scottish bagpipes in “Blood And Butter” to flamenco rhythms in “Sunset.” An ethereal experience, this album is filled with lush vocal adornments, lyrics bursting with odes to love.

Based on the 1884 novel A Moreninha, by Manoel de Macedo, and bringing back the romantic atmosphere of the 1950s, to the sound of the oldies goldies immortalized by Celly Campello, Túnel do Amor (Tunnel of Love) opens at Teatro Liberdade, with 20 actors on stage.
