Matthew Bourne's New Adventures, in partnership with Farnham Maltings, has revealed the return of Doorstep Duets, touring to communities across the South-East this summer from 13 August to 10 September 2024.

RG Live will present the return of the celebrated Varna International Ballet and Orchestra to the UK following a breathtaking debut tour in 2023. The company will visit 20 venues around the UK in 2025 with beloved classics Swan Lake, The Nutcracker and Romeo and Juliet.

The International Circle of the Théâtre des Champs-Elysées has revealed new initiatives to support global performing arts collaborations and cultural exchanges.

Chloe Misseldine has been promoted to the rank of Principal Dancer with American Ballet Theatre. The promotion, effective immediately, was announced by ABT Artistic Director Susan Jaffe on stage at the Metropolitan Opera House following the matinee performance of Swan Lake. The sold-out performance marked Misseldine’s New York debut as Odette/Odile. 

Between 1959 and 1972 – with the full Cleveland Orchestra, the somewhat smaller Cleveland Pops and the chamber-sized Cleveland Sinfonietta – Louis Lane made a series of critically acclaimed recordings for Columbia. They display the “exceptional breadth and impeccable taste” for which this gifted but perennially undervalued conductor was lauded in a tribute by the orchestra’s executive director.

Debut Sounds: Sound in Motion is the London Philharmonic Orchestra’s annual concert showcasing the LPO’s Young Composers. The concept sees five composers and eight choreographers collaborating to create the final works shown, with the music played by musicians from the LPO Foyle Future Firsts Development Programme, alongside LPO players, all led by representatives of the LPO Fellow Conductors.

Royal Ballet Soloist Gina Storm Jensen will join The Norwegian National Ballet having spent the last year as a guest dancer with the company.  Following an 11-year career with The Royal Ballet this move is a return home for Storm-Jensen who started her dance training in Oslo.

Zhang Quan’s Acrobatic Swan Lake is so much more than its title suggests. The show originated in China in 2004 and, in the intervening decades, has travelled the world and was updated in 2019 under director Yan Hongxia. As choreographer and artistic director, Quan has created a work which seamlessly blends the elegance and poetry of ballet with the ability of circus to defy physics and the limits of the human body.

With its superb acting and lovely harmonies, this is a production that will capture the hearts of the audience.

Ballet West concludes its 60th season with record-breaking attendance and highest-grossing productions, achieving financial stability with a balanced budget for the fourth consecutive year.

The casts have been unveiled for the final three weeks of American Ballet Theatre’s 2024 Summer season at the Metropolitan Opera House was announced today by Artistic Director Susan Jaffe.  

Trafalgar Theatres – the venues division of leading global live entertainment company Trafalgar Entertainment – has successfully won the contract to operate G Live in Guildford following a competitive bidding process.

Derek Deane’s Swan Lake has quite the reputation. First premiered in 1997 it became known for its corps de ballet of 60 swans (with freelancers hired to beef up ENB’s ranks) and then in 2010, a BBC documentary tracked its rehearsals and opening night, not always depicting everyone in the most flattering light, but the spectacle of all those white tutus made it an audience favourite. Now it’s back to conclude the first season under new Artistic Director Aaron S. Watkin.
