In season two of And Just Like That, the popular Sex & the City reboot, fans follow Cynthia Nixon's Miranda Hobbes, along with Carrie Bradshaw and Charlotte York, as they navigate their 50s. BroadwayWorld sat down with Nixon to look back on 25 years of Sex & the City, her return to the New York stage, and the upcoming season of The Gilded Age.

Elsewhere on the EP, close friend Andy Meecham (aka Emperor Machine) reworks “Constant Curve”, the album track he originally co-wrote and contributed keyboards and electronic percussion to. Additionally, Manchester producer Jade Parker remixes “Waiting on a Train” (feat. Ellen Beth Abdi & Chunky).

Los Angeles-based queer guitarist and songwriter zzzahara returns with a new single, “Kensington.' Aside from the one-off single “idk how to luv” released in March, “Kensington” is zzzahara’s first new music since their debut album, Liminal Spaces, was released to critical acclaim via Lex Records in 2022.

Korean-American entertainer, singer-songwriter, and actor Eric Nam has released his highly anticipated single, “House on a Hill,” available to stream and purchase here via The Orchard. The new single was produced by longtime collaborator Rabitt. Eric also wrote the song with Rabitt, Madison Simmen and Riley Biederer.

Following the announcement of its opening event, newly titled One City, A Thousand Memories, Birmingham Festival 23 has announced the full programme of events for the 10 day festival which takes place from 28 July - 6 August in Centenary Square.

Produced and mixed by Tom Rees of fellow Cardiff band Buzzard Buzzard Buzzard, the new album features the two singles alongside new tracks including dizzying psych-rock romp “Come Of Age”, breezy ballad “You Play Me” (produced by Andrew Bishop) and climactic closer “Epilogue 6” (produced by Harry Franklin-Williams and CVC’s Elliot Bradfield).

Blondshell has shared her cover of Samia’s “Charm You,” the first in a series of single releases dubbed “Honey Reimagined” featuring a variety of artists (including Maya Hawke, Hovvdy, Ruston Kelly + more TBA) reinterpreting songs from Honey, the beloved sophomore album from Samia released earlier this year via Grand Jury.

Due to popular demand, Ensemble Theatre Company (ETC) has announced a special added performance of its critically-acclaimed production of SEARED on Saturday, June 24 at 2:00pm.  SEARED performs through Sunday, June 25, 2023 at The New Vic Theatre, 33 W. Victoria Street in Santa Barbara. 

Seasoned Brooklyn punk powerhouse, THICK, share frustrated new single “Doomer,” which features production from Grammy-nominated rock producer Will Yip and drums from Mannequin Pussy member, Kaleen Reading. The song is out now on Epitaph Records, and is accompanied by a self-directed video, starring members Nikki Sisti and Kate Black.

Lifeline Theatre will Showcase Desi Moreno-Penson's work-in-development, El Bacalao: The Catfish Man(based on Euripides' “The Bacchae”), directed by Ruben Carrazana, on Friday, July 14 at 7 p.m. and Saturday, July 15 at 2:30 p.m.; and Brandon Zang's work-in-development Nuwa In Fairyland, directed by Helen Young on Saturday, July 15 at 7 p.m. and Sunday, July 16 at 2:30 p.m. at Lifeline Theatre,  6912 N. While the large majority of those who have won Tony Awards for performances on Broadway have put in significant stage time in their roles, there are a few notable exceptions. Arts Midwest announced the recipients of $1,161,500 in Shakespeare in American Communities grants, with $976,500 going to 41 professional theater companies partnering with schools, and $185,000 going to eight organizations working with students in the juvenile justice system.

Broadway rehearsals begin today for the uproarious new American comedy The Cottage, written by Sandy Rustin and directed by Tony Award winner Jason Alexander (“Seinfeld”) making his Broadway directorial debut.
