The NEC Jazz Orchestra presents Soul on Soul – The Music of Mary Lou Williams on Thursday, December 9, 2021 at 7:30 p.m. in NEC’s Jordan Hall, 290 Huntington Avenue, Boston. Joining the ensemble will be NEC alum and pianist Carmen Staaf ’05, 2009 winner of the Mary Lou Williams Jazz Pianist Competition.

After releasing two of the best singles of the year, Wet Leg’s Rhian Teasdale and Hester Chambers were catapulted from their confines on the Isle of Wight to sold out venues across the UK and packed-out tents at festivals causing giddy excitement wherever they went. The duo are thrilled to unveil two new songs alongside news of their debut album.

Former NBA sharpshooter JJ Redick and music legends Dave Koz and David Foster as well as a Motown icon double bill of The Temptations and The Four Tops are just part of the magic this December at the Broward Center for the Performing Arts. 'Big Deal' shakes off the debris of past heartbreaks, charging towards new loves with a sanguine stomp. Effusing the same unf**kwithable boldness as Tiberius’ lyrics, punch-drunk drums strut through an achingly sentimental guitar melody, solidifying the song’s joyful defiance.

“Cutthroat” was released March 12 via KIDinaKORNER/Interscope. A propulsive, punk-leaning anthem about killing the critic inside of you, vocalist Dan Reynolds has called the song “an exorcism of self-pity.” The band recorded the song with producer Rick Rubin at his Shangri-La studio in Malibu. 

A colorful and kaleidoscopic visual complimenting the pop-rock, almost Joan Jett-like stomp of the track, “SuperNatural Possession” was created by Network 77’s Rachel Lichtman.

“’'Flashpoint' is the first track from our sixth album and our first single and video to set the tone and story of where this latest album will take you” explains vocalist/songwriter Charlotte Truman.
