“Ogres are like onions.” It’s one of the most quoted lines from Shrek, and it captures the heart of the story better than any traditional fairy tale opening. This spring, Royal City Musical Theatre brings SHREK THE MUSICAL to the stage from April 17 to May 3 at the Massey Theatre, where the story unfolds layer by layer. What starts as a simple quest quickly opens up into something more, filled with unlikely friendships, fairy tale chaos, and a love story that strays from a traditional mold. 

The Providence Performing Arts Center (PPAC) just announced the winners of the 2025/2026 Ocean State Star Awards (OSSA) program. These winners will be recognized and honored on the PPAC stage during a live Showcase event.

Shrek 5, the previously announced installment in the hit DreamWorks franchise, has shifted its release date a full six months, moving from December 23, 2026, to June 30, 2027.

This summer, LEGALLY BLONDE the musical struts onto the Malkin Bowl stage for a summer of sparkle and show-stopping songs. Back by popular demand, the hit show makes its highly anticipated return as part of Theatre Under The Stars’ 2025 season, playing in repertory with Charlie and the Chocolate Factory from June 27 to August 16.
