Following our successful 2016 FringeAL FRESCO production and five-year partnership with the NYC Parks Department, Bethel Park Falls marks Everyday Inferno's sixth annual free show in Central Park. The production, written by Jason Pizzarello (Soho Rep Writer/Director Lab, Classic Stage Company) and directed by Christine Zagrobelny (Flux Theatre Ensemble, The Instigators), is a joyful celebration of community and diversity within our city's public spaces, and of the connections that these spaces can foster. Celebrate your freedom to fly! Philadelphia School of Circus Arts announces the grand opening of Philadelphia Flying Trapeze. Philadelphia's only permanent outdoor flying trapeze school will offer two-hour outdoor flying trapeze lessons at Circus Campus, 6452 Greene Street in West Mt. Airy - conveniently directly next to the Upsal SEPTA Station. The first lessons take flight this weekend as a preview, with the official grand opening set for Thursday, August 16, 2018 at 10:30am. Lessons will run Wednesdays through Sundays, through October 28, 2018, with weekday lessons running 11:00am to 1:00pm and 6:00pm to 8:00pm, and Saturdays and Sundays at 10:00am to 12:00pm, 1:00pm to 3:00pm and 4:00pm to 6:00pm. Hall ('Dexter,' 'Six Feet Under,' The Realistic Joneses) will play the title role of Thom Pain in the Signature Theatre (Paige Evans, Artistic Director; Harold Wolpert, Executive Director; James Houghton, Founder) production of Thom Pain (based on nothing), by Drama Desk Award-winning playwright Will Eno and directed by Obie Award-winner Oliver Butler. Eno was the first writer to complete Signature's Residency 5, a unique program offering three full productions over the course of five years. The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts hosts its 17th annual Page-to-Stage New Play Festival from Saturday, September 1 through Monday, September 3, 2018. The festival is a free three-day celebration of local theater featuring more than 60 companies from the D.C. metropolitan area. Theaters and artists in Page-to-Stage present open rehearsals, concert readings, and workshops of new plays that are often still in the development phase. Audience members may choose to engage in the creation through participatory activities or partake in post-presentation discussions with the artists, helping to shape future productions of the playwrights' works.
