Priscilla Queen of the Desert

Adapted from the Academy Award-winning film The Adventures of Priscilla Queen of the Desert, the musical is written by Stephan Elliott and Allan Scott. Direction is by Simon Phillips, choreography by Ross Coleman, musical supervision and arrangements by STEPHEN 'SPUD' MURPHY and set design by Brian Thomson and costumes by Tim Chappel and Lizzy Gardiner. Production is supervised by Jerry Mitchell. Lighting is designed by Nick Schlieper, sound design is by Jonathan Deans and Peter Fitzgerald and make up design is by Cassie Hanlon.

Priscilla opened on October 26, 2010, in Toronto for a 12-week pre-Broadway run at The Princess of Wales Theatre, starring Will Swenson as Tick/Mitzi, Tony Sheldon as Bernadette, Nick Adams as Adam/Feicia, all of whom transferred to Broadway for the complete run.

Garry McQuinn and NIDA (Australia's National Institute of Dramatic Art) have announced a collaborative partnership to produce the musical STARSTRUCK. Both organisations are keen to support the development of new Australian musicals: NIDA assisted as a platform to workshop the draft material in 2018 with students engaged with industry practitioners in a studio presentation. The Luitingh Alexander Musical Theatre Academy (LAMTA) is a full-time tertiary Academy for the Performing Arts and is especially geared for training triple-threat performers for a career in the Arts. Duane Alexander and Anton Luitingh announced the Academy in April 2018 with the support and endorsement of Theatre Impresario, Pieter Toerien, who has been instrumental in the development of LAMTA. The brand new, sought after Academy is housed on the top floor of the beautiful Theatre on the Bay in Cape Town and boasts six stunning studios in the heart of Camps Bay. LAMTA opened its doors in January this year and has since enjoyed two hugely successful productions on the Theatre on the Bay stage with its first intake of 28 students.
