On the Town Revival

The Queen’s English Theatre Company has been surprising audiences in Amsterdam since 2002, with often a very gay take on productions, such as Cabaret and The Importance of Being Earnest. They now take a new, innovative direction with an immersive staging of a double bill of two plays. For this production, the main stage of the CC Amstel Theater will have its own bar serving drinks before both the shows. The immersive tickets transport you to the streets, bars, clubs and parks of London and Barcelona. You’ll be part of the ‘crowd’ without being in the spotlight. But if you want a more relaxed evening at the show, seated tickets are also available, in the usual auditorium, in rows B,C and D. Staged intimately in the round, the plays share a number of themes. Love, sex and... going out! There are just 100 tickets per show.

New Jersey-based professional training orchestra Symphony in C today announces its 2023-2024 season following the recent appointment of its new Music Director, Noam Aviel. Aviel began her position in July and makes her debut as Music Director conducting Smetana's Overture from The Bartered Bride, Rachmaninov's Piano Concerto No. 2, Op. 18 (soloist TBA), and Tchaikovsky's Symphony 4 during Symphony in C's season opening concert on Saturday, November 4, 2023 at 8:00 p.m. All concerts take place at Gordon Theater at the Rutgers-Camden Center for the Arts in Camden, New Jersey.

South Florida Symphony Orchestra (SFSO), led by Sebrina María Alfonso, has announced its 2023/24 season featuring five classical Masterworks concerts and Handel's glorious holiday masterpiece Messiah. This new season features Brahms, Bernstein, Schubert, Stravinsky, Tchaikovsky and more, including Symphony premieres by trailblazing female composers Florence Price, Ellen Taaffe Zwilich and Jessie Montgomery. SFSO will also host a 200th anniversary celebration of Beethoven's magnificent Symphony No. 9.
