SMOKEY JOE'S CAFE Returns To New York This Summer

The original producers of Smokey Joe's Cafe: The Songs of Leiber & Stoller, Broadway's longest running musical revue, announced today that the show will return to New York this summer following a limited engagement at Maine's Ogunquit Playhouse. Preview performances will begin at New York's Stage 42 (422 West 42nd Street) on July 6 and opening night is set for July 22. BWW Review: SHEAR MADNESS at The Kennedy Center Celebrates 30 Years of Killings

Few productions can claim to be as much of an institution as Shear Madness is to Washington, D.C. Celebrating 30 years at the Kennedy Center, this show has become once of theater's most notorious tourist traps. This comedic caper whose plot can vary wildly each night incentivizes repeat viewings to those who are true converts, proving why more than 3.4 million people have attended this production. And although the stereotype-laden script struggles when viewed in 2018, the immersive whodunnit remains an experience unique enough to justify Shear Madness's continued existence. (more...)

From the sun baked Oklahoma Territory at the turn of the 20th century comes the Broadway classic, Oklahoma!, beginning April 11 with a press opening on Wednesday, April 18 at 7:30 p.m. at 10 Marriott Drive, Lincolnshire. The PSO Announces 2018-2019 Classical Season

???????The Princeton Symphony Orchestra (PSO) announces its 2018-2019 season, featuring more concerts than ever before including a six-concert subscription series with new Saturday evening performance options and music ranging from classical Beethoven and Brahms concertos to a celebration of Leonard Bernstein favorites, works by Paganini, Jana?ek, and Stravinsky, and a Dvo?ak symphony. There is a recent piece by Missy Mazzoli and a new work by Derek Bermel, co-commissioned by the PSO. Superstar violinist Rachel Barton Pine, pianists Inon Barnatan and Dominic Cheli, soprano Meghan Picerno, and guest conductor Marcelo Lehninger grace the PSO stage. Audience favorites Daniel Rowland and flutist Chelsea Knox make highly anticipated return appearances, and an afternoon of music by Falla is accompanied by flamenco dancing. Presiding over all is conductor and Music Director Rossen Milanov, whose 10-year anniversary celebration with the PSO gets underway in early 2019. (more...)
