On Friday, March 24th, Mayor Eric Adams gave a Mayoral Proclamation to 96-year-old John Kander in celebration of the first Broadway performance of his new musical New York, New York. Following the proclamation, Lin-Manuel Miranda unveiled the sign renaming 44th Steet 'Kander & Ebb Way' and the Manhattan School of Music performed the iconic Kander & Ebb song 'New York, New York.' Abingdon Theatre Company has released opening night images of their Off-Broadway production of Queens Girl in the World. The one woman play, written by Caleen Sinette Jennings, stars Felicia Curry as protagonist, Jacqueline Marie Butler.

Foolish Production Co will present next Los Angeles production of Tony Kushner’s award winning play, Angels in America: A Gay Fantasia on National Themes, Part One: Millennium Approaches and Part Two: Perestroika.

The one woman play, written by Caleen Sinette Jennings, will star Felicia Curry as protagonist, Jacqueline Marie Butler. Curry originated the role in the third installment of the trilogy, Queens Girl: Black in the Green Mountains, at the Everyman Theatre in Baltimore, MD. Queens Girl in the World marks Abingdon’s return to the main stage.

COVID-19 covered the world in an oppressive shadow, forcing us inside and alone but these strifes would lead to even greater creations: virtual performances via Zoom, Facetime karaoke nights, and front-row seats to Broadway’s finest from our living room couch. And, I'm proud to announce that this week my school will be performing Mamma Mia!, our first musical since the world shut down. C'mon, Saguaro High School, let's bring down the house!

Last Night, To Kill a Mockingbird welcomed Academy Award nominee and Emmy Award winner Greg Kinnear as he made his Broadway debut as “Atticus Finch.” Written by Academy Award winner Aaron Sorkin with direction by Tony Award winner Bartlett Sher, To Kill a Mockingbird also stars Baize Buzan as “Scout Finch.”
