The August Wilson African American Cultural Center, City Theatre Company, and DEMASKUS Theater Collective will co-present the story of voting-rights icon Fannie Lou Hamer in the Pittsburgh premiere of FANNIE: The Music and Life of Fannie Lou Hamer by Cheryl L. West.

THE ROCKY HORROR SHOW, book, lyrics and music by Richard O'Brien, is his homage to B movies of horror and science fiction. This fantastical romp of a musical is packed with archetypal characters, hackneyed tropes and references that should have no resonance with contemporary youth. It's been a cult favorite for its entire half-century existence.

Baryshnikov Arts Center (BAC) presents a one-night-only recital by pianist Boris Berman on Thursday, December 1, 2022 at 7:30pm at BAC's Howard Gilman Performance Space. The program features works by Ukrainian composer Valentin Silvestrov, whose music Berman has championed since the 1960s. 

The newly-formed Maryland Theatre Collective has announced a historic merging of two theatrical entities of the greater Baltimore region: The Heritage Players, Inc. (founded in 1975) and The Baltimore Theatre Collective (founded in 2012).

Turner Classic Movies (TMC) will present a 12-film tribute to Angela Lansbury on November 21st. The 24-hour marathon will include some of her most memorable films including Gaslight and The Manchurian Candidate, as well as an airing of the 1982 filmed production of Sweeney Todd. Dame Angela Lansbury passed away on October 11, 2022, at the age of 96. 

It is indeed ironic that composer Alberto Hemsi, who spent much of his life rescuing music that faced extinction, should have his own brilliantly original works threatened with a similar fate.

TDF, the not-for-profit organization for the performing arts formerly known as Theatre Development Fund, has welcomed a new Chair of the Board of Trustees: H. Gwen Marcus. The announcement was made by TDF’s current Chair, Earl D. Weiner, who has held the position since November 2008.

Griffin Theatre Company has announced casting for its Midwest premiere of Marys Seacole by Pulitzer Prize winner Jackie Sibblies Drury, directed by Jerrell L. Henderson and Hannah Todd. Launching Griffin’s 33rd season, Marys Seacole will play October 1 – November 6, 2022 on Raven Theatre’s Schwartz Stage.

The Wick Costume Museum has undergone a dramatic high-tech transformation, resulting in a stunning new venue, rechristened The Museum Club at The Wick. The completely renovated space will feature immersive video experiences, historic costume displays, dining, and entertainment. The Gala Grand Opening is Friday, September 16, and includes an intimate concert by Christine Andreas.

Pompano Beach Arts has announced that The Rocky Horror Picture Show 47th Anniversary Spectacular Tour featuring Barry Bostwick will take place at the Pompano Beach Cultural Center on October 1, 2022.

Griffin Theatre Company will launch its 33rd season with the Midwest premiere drama Marys Seacole by Pulitzer Prize winner Jackie Sibblies Drury, directed by Jerrell L. Henderson and Hannah Todd, playing October 1 – November 6, 2022 on Raven Theatre’s Schwartz Stage.

The World Premiere of Michael Shapiro’s VOICES is set to take place at New York City's famed Central Synagogue, Thursday, November 10, 2022. This performance will feature Daniel Mutlu, the Senior Cantor of Central Synagogue, Ember Choral Arts, and the American Modern Ensemble, conducted by Deborah Simpkin King. 

When Daryl Hall & John Oates released their sixteenth studio album ‘Do It For Love’ in 2003, it was to critical and commercial acclaim, with singles including ‘Do It For Love’, ‘Man on a Mission’ and ‘Getaway Car’. The album is being made available for the first time on double LP and the CD is reissued on gatefold digipak.
