Berkeley Repertory Theatre announced the full cast and creative team for the world premiere musical, Goddess. The musical stage production is conceived and directed by Saheem Ali, music and lyrics by Michael Thurber, and written by Jocelyn Bioh. Previews begin Saturday, August 13, and the show runs through Sunday, September 25.

This July, Berkshire Theatre Group will present Songs For a New World, the first musical by Tony Award winner Jason Robert Brown at The Unicorn Theatre in Stockbridge, MA, and also the 2022 Colonial Concert Series: Featuring Broadway Luminaries Chita Rivera and Charl Brown at The Colonial Theatre in Pittsfield, MA.

After the success of Rio de Janeriro’s season, the play Ponto a Ponto (Amy Herzog’s 4000 Miles), directed by Gustavo Barchilon, opens in Sao Paulo on July 15, at Teatro B32. The show features Luiz Fernando Guimaraes giving life to a 90-year-old lady, Bruno Gissoni as her grandson and Renata Ricci in two roles.

Call it “Sunday in the Park with A Cabbello” – clearly apropos for a special encore engagement of ““We’re Still Here” celebrating the music and legacy of Stephen Sondheim. Following the success of their first with-audience performance in two years May 14 & 15, the “BelloGents” of A Cabbello are back.

Festival of Cinema NYC will return for its 6th year, as a live in-person 10-day event, August 5 - August 14. Taking place at the Regal UA Midway theater in Forest Hills, Queens, FOC NYC will showcase 124 independent films from more than 25 countries, with over 90 anticipated filmmakers to be in attendance.

PRIMARY STAGES announced casting for On That Day in Amsterdam by Clarence Coo (People Sitting in Darkness) and directed by Zi Alikhan (The Boy Who Danced on Air). On That Day in Amsterdam will begin previews at 59E59’s Theater A on July 23, 2022, with opening night set for August 11 for a limited run through September 4, 2022.

The American Repertory Theater (A.R.T.) at Harvard University raised $1.35 million in support of the theater’s mission to expand the boundaries of theater through its artistic productions and educational offerings at its annual fundraising gala held last Monday, June 6. Yale Repertory Theatre will conclude its 2022 season with Between Two Knees. The play, written by the intertribal sketch comedy troupe The 1491s and directed by Eric Ting, is presented with Oregon Shakespeare Festival. Between Two Knees will be performed May 12–June 4 at Yale Repertory Theatre (1120 Chapel Street).
