Art House Productions Presents NOT MEDEA

Art House Productions is proud to announce its winter mainstage production of Allison Gregory's Not Medea, directed by Adin Walker. Performances run, December 6,7,8, 13, 14, 15 at 8:00pm, and Sundays, December 9 and 16 at 3:00pm for a total of eight performances, with ASL and Audio Interpretation at the Friday, December 14th performance. Beginning at 6:30pm prior to the December 14th performance, the Art House Access Committee will host a free mixer for artists with and without disabilities. Wine and hors d'oeuvres included. In concurrence with Not Medea, the Art House Gallery will be open for its inaugural Affordable Art Show featuring over 75 fine art pieces all selling for $500 and under. Industry Editor Exclusive: BAT OUT OF HELL and the Tour That Never Was

It was around 3pm on November 1, 2018. The members of the company of BAT OUT OF HELL, which was in the midst of an engagement at Toronto's Mirvish Theatre, received a text saying there would be a company meeting at 7pm. Nothing good ever comes of those; veterans knew there was something up. Once gathered, the Company Manager told them the bad news: the tour was ending where it began, in Toronto. The final performance there was to take place, as scheduled, two days later. The rest of the stops had been cancelled. Their futures were now uncertain. The night they were told that news, one actor broke his hand during the performance, another his foot. (more...)

HAMILTON Announces Lottery Details For Peace Center Engagement

Producer Jeffrey Seller and the Peace Center announce a digital lottery for Hamilton tickets will begin in conjunction with the show's first performance (December 4) in Greenville at the Peace Center. Forty (40) tickets will be sold for every performance for $10 each. The digital lottery will open at 11:00 AM ET on Sunday, December 2 for tickets to the Tuesday, December 4 performance. Subsequent digital lotteries will begin two days prior to each performance. (more...)

The Acting Company (Ian Belknap, Artistic Director; Elisa Spencer-Kaplan, Executive Director) honored director and artistic leader Bill Rauch and the married civic leaders Barbaralee Diamonstein-Spielvogel and Ambassador Carl Spielvogel- individuals whose exemplary work aligns with the artistic and educational ideals of the storied repertory company that produces nationally recognized theater productions and arts education programs-at the Company's 2018 Fall Gala, on November 12. Held at the historic Metropolitan Club (One East 60th Street), the event raised nearly $400,000 and brought together awards, live entertainment, silent and live auctions, dinner, and cocktails in celebration of theater and its contribution to American society. Tony Award-winner and The Acting Company alumna Harriet Harris hosted, with performances by Joanna A. Jones (Hamilton) and Tatiana Wechsler, featuring Russ Kaplan's Broadway Jazz.  (more...)

2019 Film Independent Spirit Awards Nominations Announced

This morning, Film Independent announced the nominations for the 2019 Film Independent Spirit Awards. The Spirit Awards are the primary fundraiser for Film Independent's year-round programs, which cultivate the careers of emerging filmmakers and promote diversity in the industry. Film Independent President Josh Welsh presided over the press conference held at the W Hotel in Hollywood, with actors Gemma Chan and Molly Shannon presenting the nominations.
