The following night The former musical director of LATE NIGHT WITH STEPHEN COLBERT unveiled a previously unheard piano concerto commissioned by ProMusica. Either night was a transformational performance.

It’s calming and mellow, with brilliantly layered verses from Saba, a powerful hook shared by Ward and Ogi, lucious backing vocals from McFerrin, and a gently percussive beat that sounds like the memory of a summer’s day. Slow Joy, the solo project of Dallas based, New Mexican born Chicano artist Esteban Flores, releases his latest single, the urgent and anguished “King Cowboy”. The song looks at the consequences of existing in a capitalist society, including challenging economic realities and represents Flores’ foray into telling personal stories from the perspective of a character. Bass Reeves Play COWBOY to Return Off-Broadway Beginning in May

The Off-Broadway production of Cowboy, based on the life of Bass Reeves will return beginning next month. Reeves holds the distinction of being the first black U.S. Deputy Marshal and this will be the first true western play to hit a Broadway or Off-Broadway stage in over 80 years.
