Broadway Bound Revival

Bob Fosse's DANCIN', the American show business legend's landmark musical tribute to the artform that defined his life, will return to Broadway 41 years after the original smash-hit production took its final bow. Bob Fosse's DANCIN' will begin previews at The Music Box Theatre on Thursday, March 2, 2023, with opening night set for Sunday, March 19, 2023.

54 Below, Broadway's Supper Club, presents 54 SINGS FOR PLANNED PARENTHOOD, a benefit for Planned Parnethood's Action Fund, on Monday November 28th at 9:30pm.

New original musical comedy, Shucked, is headed to Broadway in Spring 2023! The musical features a book by Tony Award® winner Robert Horn and a score by the  Nashville songwriting team of Brandy Clark and Shane McAnally. Learn more about Shucked, and how to purchase tickets, here!

Bob Fosse's Dancin' is officially head to Broadway next year! The revival will begin performances March 2 and to open March 19 at the Music Box Theater.

The world premiere of the Broadway-bound musical comedy SHUCKED, currently playing at Pioneer Theatre Company, is hilariously corny with story and song as sweet and juicy as fresh, buttered corn on the cob. It’s an unexpected show that grows on you as it goes along, and like kernels stuck in your teeth, it stays with you long after.

Robert Horn won a Tony for TOOTSIE, adapted his own book of the musical 13 for its Netflix adaptation, and has written a number of television projects, including TEEN BEACH MOVIE and TEEN BEACH 2.  Generous and genuinely funny, he recently spoke with BroadwayWorld about his involvement in this new project.

The New Jewish Theatre has announced its 2023 season, which is also its 25th season of producing professional plays and musicals at the J. The season celebrates some of the New Jewish Theatre's most beloved playwrights, productions and actors, while also bringing new works to St. Louis audiences.  

Producers Sonia Friedman and Tom Kirdahy have announced that the brand new Kander & Ebb musical, NEW YORK, NEW YORK, will begin performances on Broadway Friday, March 24, 2023 and officially open Wednesday, April 26, 2023 at Broadway’s St. James Theatre.

The evening will also pay tribute to Jessica's late grandmother, Rose Hecht, a lifelong Workers Circle member and activist who introduced Jessica to the organization when she was a child.

What did our critic think of TOOTSIE at Rochester Broadway Theatre League? The Rochester Broadway Theatre League begins its 2022-2023 M&T Bank Broadway season with something fun and splashy, a perfect date night musical based on one of the 1980s' most beloved pop culture gems. 'Tootsie', the Robert Horn and David Yazbek musical adaption of the 1982 Dustin Hoffman film of the same name, is a light and springy show about showbiz, which also attempts to grapple with the difficulties of being a woman in a man's world. Rochester is the first stop on Tootsie's national tour.

The St. Louis Symphony Orchestra and The Muny have announced details about their latest collaboration: the upcoming concert honoring the late Stephen Sondheim A Little Sondheim Music on Sunday, October 2, at 3:00pm.

BroadwayWorld has just learned that Julie Benko, who is currently the standby Fanny Brice in Broadway's Funny Girl, is already rehearsing her next role. Benko has scored the role of Ruth in Barry Manilow's Broadway-bound Harmony, according to recent Instagram posts from Benko and the show. The role was previously played by Jessie Davidson in the show's recent off-Broadway run. 

On Saturday October 15th, Sierra Boggess will teach two in-person auditioning classes at Discovering Broadway Inc. in Indiana. The nonprofit incubates Broadway bound musicals and offers master classes to local artists. Twenty-five percent of the class participants are sponsored at-risk youth and BIPOC artists.

On Saturday, September 17 from 12PM to 4PM, Hartford Stage will open their doors to new and returning audiences to learn about the theatre's inner-workings and what it has in store for this season.

A Beautiful Noise, The Neil Diamond Musical will begin preview performances Wednesday, November 2 ahead of a Sunday, December 4 opening night at Broadway's Broadhurst Theatre. Check out a first look video of the cast in action!

Leapin’ Lizards! The full cast and creative team has been announced for the all-new tour of the iconic Tony Award®-winning musical ANNIE. In the title role of Annie is Ellie Pulsifer, a 12-year-old actress from South Florida, making her tour debut.
