On August 7, 2025, Stray Dog Theatre will continue its season with the youth opera The Second Hurricane. Composed by Aaron Copland, with a libretto by Edwin Denby, The Second Hurricane premiered in 1937 at The Playhouse in New York City. That original production was directed by a then 21-year-old Orson Welles and starred a young Joseph Cotten. “Audiences are going to want to see this because it is unique and hasn’t been done in St. Louis before,” says Bell. “This is a unique art form that needs to be explored and cherished.”

Great Scott! Set your DeLorean time circuit to Summer 2025 as the cinematic blockbuster Back to the Future crash lands in Toronto at the CAA Ed Mirvish Theatre. Winner of the 2022 Olivier Award for Best New Musical, Back to the Future: The Musical is adapted to the stage by the movie's creators Bob Gale and Robert Zemeckis and directed by Tony Award Winner John Rando.

BACK TO THE FUTURE: The Musical will arrive in Detroit as part of the 2025-26 Broadway Season. This live experience is based on the Universal Pictures/Amblin Entertainment film.

With direction by André Heller-Lopes and musical direction by Priscila Bomfim, this production brings together Italian composer Giacomo Puccini and German composer Richard Strauss. This time, we will be presenting Strauss's opera Friedenstag (Day of Peace) for the first time in Latin America. Alongside it, another rarity: Le Villi (The Fairies), Puccini's first opera, forming an exclusive double bill featuring two one-act operas.

The Gilmore has announced the return of its Gilmore Festival Fellowship, a ten-day career-advancement residency for classical and jazz pianists 18 years and older designed to bridge artistry and professional development. Applications are now open through December 1, 2025, to take part in the residency from May 1-10, 2026.
