GISELLE: REMIX producers have announced three late night extravaganzas, CLUB GISELLE, with DJs and drag performers throughout August, exclusively for Fringe performers, pass holders, staff and accredited industry.

'Dead Inside' is a beautifully crafted and deeply thoughtful production, but it’s also immensely funny – a balance Riki Lindhome seems to have mastered, and one that really lends itself to this difficult topic.

PARADE asks a lot of its audience. There are moments when a song is so rousing and well-sung, but then you realize the material is uncomfortable, and you wonder if you should cheer or stay absolutely quiet.

And Death Becomes Her leans into the hilarity as two women become gorgeous living corpses before our very eyes, thanks to a touch of magic. But plays and musicals about death and its attendant macabre topics have been a part of the theatre landscape for many decades...

It’s so satisfying to see a musical that resonates emotionally with an audience, and Waitress is one of those musicals. From the writing to the performance, the entire audience was held rapt for the entire 2 1/2 hours, staying right with the performers as they traversed this well told story. There were gasps, applause, and exclamations of support, and a well deserved standing ovation at the end of it all. MTWichita told this story exceedingly well.

WAITRESS was originally a small indie film with a big heart. Written and directed by Adrienne Shelly, the 2007 movie told the story of Jenna, a Southern diner waitress with a knack for pie-making and a longing for a better life. The film quietly built a loyal following, beloved for its quirky charm, honest emotion, and bittersweet tone.

Brooke Jacob is the first to admit her storyline is a bit unusual in the Short North Stage’s production of WAITRESS, which runs July 10-Aug. 10 at the Garden Theatre.

Punk Rock & Paintbrushes is teaming up with punk rock legends The Offspring to present curated art and photography exhibits at each North American stop on the band’s upcoming SUPERCHARGED Tour, beginning July 11 and running through September 7.

The Arts Club Theatre Company is serving up a heartfelt musical this summer with WAITRESS, now playing at the Stanley Industrial Alliance Stage in Vancouver, BC from June 12 to August 3, 2025. With a book by Jessie Nelson and music and lyrics by Grammy Award-winning singer-songwriter, Sara Bareilles, this musical is based on the 2007 film written by Adrienne Shelly. The Cover of Life, by R.T. Robinson, is based on his family’s true story about three women and their struggle for self-worth in rural Louisiana in 1943. Tood, Weetsie and Sybill each married a Cliffert brother who are engaged in World War II. A local reporter with the Louisiana Times Picayune writes story about these young wives, which piques the interest of Life Magazine’s Henry Luce. Luce assigns Kate Miller to the story, who has been covering the war in Europe. Kate spends a week with the Cliffert women to cover their life while the men are away, and unexpectedly explores the reality of the women as they struggle to find their own identity.  The piece is so well written, with complex characters working through intricate relationships, delicious subtext, prose filled with images and powerful emotions, strong rhythm, and subtle humor.
