Actor Burt Grinstead gained recognition in Los Angeles for his terrific performance in Deathtrap at LGBTQ and later in The Rope at Actors Co-op. He formed his own production company and produced and co-starred in Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, which he also adapted with his partner Anna Stromberg. They won top prize at the Hollywood Fringe Festival in 2018. Grinstead is currently preparing to open as Richard the Lionheart in The Lion in Winter at Laguna Playhouse this Sunday November 10. In our conversation he talks about the play in depth and lays bare his passion for the acting profession.

Goodspeed Musicals has announced this year's cast of A Connecticut Christmas Carol - the musical treat infused with Connecticut flavor by LJ Fecho and Michael O'Flaherty. Perfect for the holidays, A Connecticut Christmas Carol, the family-friendly take on the Dickens classic, will return to The Terris Theatre December 4 - 28, 2019. As Dr. Jekyll attempts to solve humanity's most challenging dilemmas, his passionate drive is met with internal and societal friction. The scientist's experiments spiral out of control, strengthening his notorious alter ego - Mr. Hyde. 

On Monday, September 23, 2019, Theater Works received a staggering 30 AriZoni Awards. The AriZoni Awards recognize excellence in theatrical performances, as well as individuals who produce exceptional work in all aspects of theatre across the Valley annually. Theater Works received 65 nominations for productions in the 2018-19 season, receiving six awards for the MasterWorks season and 24 awards for YouthWorks productions.

Prima Theatre received special permission (Wildhorn Productions, Music Theatre International) to present an exciting adaption of the Broadway and international phenomenon. Jekyll & Hyde will be staged in an envelop- ing environment at Central Pennsylvania's newest performing arts venue, Prima's black box theatre. The musical features an electrifying score by Grammy and Tony-nominated Frank Wildhorn, and Book and Lyrics by Oscar and Grammy-winning Leslie Bricusse. 

The South Florida Silver Palm Theatre Awards, founded twelve years ago to honor theatrical excellence in South Florida, has announced that this year it will present the coveted award to 26 individuals and organizations.
