One of the most acclaimed musicals of our time, Sunday in the Park with George, won the Pulitzer Prize and was nominated for 10 Tony Awards in 1984 including Best Musical. A bold, mime-inspired reimagining of a canonical literary text, THEATRE SMITH-GILMOUR has announced its original, audacious production of METAMORPHOSES 2023, adapted from the legendary epic poem by Ovid for the stage and directed by Michele Smith.

Pasadena’s A Noise Within will present a four-week run of Kiss of the Spider Woman April 1 through April 23, with previews beginning March 26.

Fulton Theatre announces casting for their upcoming production of The Wiz. Leading the company is Jaden Dominique as Dorothy, Paris Bennett (American Idol Season 5) as Addaperle/Evillene, and DeQuina Moore (original Broadway: Little Shop of Horrors, Chiffon; Legally Blonde, Pilar) as Aunt Em/Glinda. Nationally renowned actor and director E Faye Butler will direct the production alongside award-winning choreographer, Kenny Ingram (EmojiLand).

Lyrical season will have 11 titles, including the premiere of O Machete, by Mehmari. Throughout 2023, will be presented of Il Seraglio, by Mozart, Cinderella, by Viardot, The Cunning Little Vixen, by Janácek, Dido and Eneas, by Purcell, among others. The program also includes ballet shows, symphonic and chamber music concerts.

ETT (English Touring Theatre) has announced their new production of Shakespeare’s Macbeth, and further programming for 2023.
