Gamm Wins Second Elliot Norton Award, Outstanding Performance By A Small Company

The Sandra Feinstein-Gamm Theatre (The Gamm) was honored by the Boston Theatre Critics Association with its second Elliot Norton Award last night at a ceremony at Harvard University's Sanders Theatre. This season's production of Clifford Odets' Awake and Sing! directed by Gamm Resident Director Fred Sullivan, Jr. won in the category of 'Outstanding Performance by a Small Company.' This was The Gamm's second consecutive Norton Award nomination and second win, having received the 2008 award in the category of 'Outstanding New Script' for Paul Grellong's Radio Free Emerson, The Gamm's first-ever commission.

Trinity Church Ministry of the Arts presents the American Songbook Does Time, which is set to open May 7th, 2009. The show is directed by Paul Allard and has musical direction by Al Dentson III. The show will be performed at the Trinity Church at 7:30 pm on May 7th, 8th, 9th, 10th, 14th, 15th, 16th, and 17th. There is a $15 suggested donation ($10 for seniors and military). Theatre Works is set to present Tom Dudzick's Over the Tavern. This Connie Anderson-directed show will be performed May 15 at 8:00pm, May 16 at 8:00pm, May 17 at 2:00pm, May 22 at 8:00pm, May 23 at 8:00pm, and May 24 at 8:00pm. Tickets are $18 (general admission) and $15 for seniors 62 and older and children 12 and under. A season subscription costs $48 (just $12 per show).

Sandy, the beloved pet 'star' of the musical Annie has agreed ('aarf, aarf!!!') to come out into the PPAC Lobby Lounge to have photos taken after the Saturday, May 2, matinee show at 2P to create a special memory and to benefit the Providence Animal Rescue League (PARL) for just $10 per photo! Adults and children are invited to participate in this special opportunity and will leave with their unique photo with Sandy to commemorate the occasion and with the added benefit of knowing that the purchase will benefit local pets in need, many of whom, like Annie and Sandy, need to find loving and safe homes!
