Bat Boy isn’t my usual cup of tea. It’s loud, strange, and unapologetically over the top, and for the first few scenes I wasn’t sure what to make of it. I went in skeptical and came out cheering. Bat Boy is bizarre, brash, and nothing like what I normally see, and it completely won me over. Just let go and embrace the weirdness.
Probably one of the biggest challenges of this production is the venue. The fourth-floor space is relatively intimate, so this extremely over-the-top style of acting often seems excessive when your audience sits less than five feet away
