Portland Shakespeare Project to Present THE TEMPEST & THE ADMIRABLE CRICHTON in July

With William Shakespeare's farewell masterpiece, The Tempest, Portland Shakespeare Project will entertain summer audiences with some of the world's most glorious poetry in this production directed by Michael Mendelson. A staged reading of The Admirable Crichton by J.M. Barrie will serve as a delightful three-day theatrical complement, directed by Jon Kretzu. Both shows will be performed on the Alder Stage at Artists Repertory Theatre. Tickets are on sale through Artists Rep's Box Office. Performances of The Tempest are Wednesday through Saturday at 7:30pm and Sunday at 2pm. Performances of The Admirable Crichton are Tuesday, July 22 and 29 at 7:30pm and Sunday, August 3 at 7:30pm. OSF's Allen Elizabethan Theatre Opens Today

The Oregon Shakespeare Festival opens its outdoor theatre the weekend of June 13-15 with two Shakespeare productions, Richard III, directed by James Bundy, and The Two Gentlemen of Verona, directed by Sarah Rasmussen. Also opening is Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine's musical Into the Woods, directed by Amanda Dehnert. The shows will close the weekend of October 10-12.

Grant Turner Named New Co-Artistic Director of Portland Shakespeare Project

Portland Shakespeare Project (PSP) has announced that Grant Turner, former Artistic Director of Northwest Classical Theatre Company (NWCTC), is joining the company as Co-Artistic Director. Turner will share responsibility for the overall artistic direction of PSP with Founding Artistic Director Michael Mendelson.

The Third Rail Repertory Theatre Presents THE BEAUTY QUEEN OF LEENANE by Martin McDonagh. The play will run from today, May 30th through June 22nd. The cast includes Damon Kupper*, Maureen Porter*, Jayne Taini, and Rolland Walsh. According to Charles Spencer of The Telegraph, '[McDonagh's writing] is the bastard offspring of JM Synge and Quentin Tarantino, with moments of extreme violence constantly juxtaposed with edgy, laugh-out-loud humour.'
