Enlightened Theatrics Stages Disney's HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL: ON STAGE, Starting Tonight

Oregon Shakespeare Festival's Daedalus Film Fest Fundraiser to Run 8/15-17

The Daedalus Project, the Oregon Shakespeare Festival's annual fundraiser to end the spread of HIV/AIDS, has announced the Daedalus Film Fest will be held August 15-17. All screenings will take place at the Varsity Theatre on Main Street in Ashland.

The Oregon Shakespeare Festival (OSF) will host four Shakespeare on the Road travelers July 28-August 1, 2014, as part of the group's 60-day, 10,000-mile road trip to 14 Shakespeare festivals in the U.S. and Canada to celebrate the 450th anniversary of Shakespeare's birth. During their Ashland visit, Shakespeare on the Road members will get an in-depth look at the Oregon Shakespeare Festival, both on stage and behind the scenes.

Post5 Theatre is thrilled to kick off Summer with Shakespeare's comedy about Love and (you guessed it) Loss. Funny and fast, touching and absurd, Avital Shira's telling of this wonderful comedy will bring the ridiculous characters in the show to life in personal and moving ways. Love's Labor's Lost will run approximately two hours with one 15-minute intermission. The show runs Thursday-Sunday, today, July 10th - August 3rd at 7:30PM with a special opening night gala on July 11.
OSF Awarded $25,000 Shakespeare in American Communities Grant

The Oregon Shakespeare Festival (OSF) is one of 40 nonprofit theatre companies chosen to participate in the 2014-15 Shakespeare in American Communities program. OSF will receive a $25,000 grant award from Arts Midwest, on behalf of the National Endowment for the Arts, in support of efforts to expose underserved students and teachers to the works of William Shakespeare.

With William Shakespeare's farewell masterpiece, The Tempest, Portland Shakespeare Project will entertain summer audiences with some of the world's most glorious poetry in this production directed by Michael Mendelson. A staged reading of The Admirable Crichton by J.M. Barrie will serve as a delightful three-day theatrical complement, directed by Jon Kretzu. Both shows will be performed on the Alder Stage at Artists Repertory Theatre. Tickets are on sale through Artists Rep's Box Office. Performances of The Tempest are Wednesday through Saturday at 7:30pm and Sunday at 2pm. Performances of The Admirable Crichton are Tuesday, July 22 and 29 at 7:30pm and Sunday, August 3 at 7:30pm. The Oregon Shakespeare Festival will open the world premiere of Family Album, with book and lyrics by Stew, music by Stew and Heidi Rodewald, created with and directed by Joanna Settle. The opening performance is at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, July 5 in the Thomas Theatre; previews are July 1, 3 and 4. Family Album was commissioned by OSF with support from the Edgerton Foundation. The show runs through August 31.
