The Delaware County Symphony celebrates the musical genius of American composer George Gershwin with a special one hour interactive cultural program focused on Gershwins classic masterpiece Rhapsody in Blue: An American Icon. From the captivating clarinet trill to the virtuosic piano cadenza, Gershwin's Rhapsody in Blue has attracted the hearts of audiences since its premiere in 1924. By taking a musical walk through of this classic rhapsody, we'll discover how Gershwin's most popular work captures the essence of the American spirit. Included in the program will be an explanation how this masterpiece was composed with biographical details about his life, musical insights, and a performance of this masterpiece on the Steinway Grand piano by classical pianist Ms. Jennifer Nicole Campbell the Symphonys Artist In Residence.
