Seattle Repertory Theatre presents the world premiere of Roz and Ray, a play by local playwright, Seattle Rep Writers Group alumna, and University of Washington Senior Artist in Residence Karen Hartman, with direction from the acclaimed Chay Yew, Artistic Director of Victory Gardens Theater in Chicago. Broadway talents Ellen McLaughlin (Angels in America) and Teagle F. Bougere (The Crucible, A Raisin In The Sun, The Tempest) star in Roz and Ray, which runs now through November 13, 2016 (opening night is tonight, October 19, 2016) in the Leo K. Theatre. Seattle Repertory Theatre presents A Raisin in the Sun, a classic Lorraine Hansberry's drama, directed by Timothy McCuen Piggee. NC-17. is a new American tragedy written and conceived by Rodney Hicks, featuring music by indie singer-songwriter Justin Jude Carroll. After a sold-out concert in 2013, Jonathan Larson and Mary Rodgers/Lorenz Hart Award winners Charlie Sohne & Tim Rosser came back to the Feinstein's/54 Below stage for the first time in over 2 years. Audiences heard selections from some of their latest projects including Run Away Home, Talk To Me, The Boy Who Danced on Air, and their new slash fiction boy band pilot Truth Slash Fiction.

BroadwayWorld has just learned that Rodney Hicks will direct an industry reading of his new play, NC-17, on Monday, March 7. A reading was presented at Portland Center Stage and Seattle Repertory Theatre, this past year, under the working title PWP.

All the Way, the new play by Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Robert Schenkkan, starring BREAKING BAD's Bryan Cranston, is currently in previews on Broadway at the Neil Simon Theatre. The production officially opens on Thursday, March 6, 2014 for a strictly limited engagement. The play is directed by Bill Rauch, Artistic Director of the Oregon Shakespeare Festival, where All the Way began its theatrical life. Arena Stage Artistic Director Molly Smith has announced eight productions on subscription for the company's third year in its new home, the Mead Center for American Theater.

Barrington Stage Company will present the New England premiere of British playwright's Duncan Macmillan's acclaimed new drama Lungs. Lungs opens the newly named St. Germain Stage (formerly Stage 2) from May 23 through June 10, and the press opening is Sunday, May 27 at 3pm. St. Germain Stage is located on the upper level of the Sydelle and Lee Blatt Performing Arts Center, 36 Linden Street, Pittsfield.

The Steinberg Playwright Awards are presented biennially, and are uniquely positioned to honor the accomplishments of some of the most gifted up-and-coming American playwrights, and to recognize the promise they hold for the future of American theatre.

Director Kenny Leon (Broadway's Fences and last season's Stick Fly at Arena Stage) leads an ensemble cast featuring talent from across the country, including Tony Award-winner Phylicia Rashad teamed up with Jason Dirden, CrystAl Fox, Autumn Hurlbert, Jim Ireland, Leslie Kritzer, Eugene Lee, E. Roger Mitchell and Jonathan Earl Peck. every tongue confess runs November 9, 2010-January 2, 2011 in the Arlene and Robert Kogod Cradle.
