THANK YOU FOR JUDGING, a documentary about high school Dramatic Interpretation contests, will appear as part of the 30th Annual Outfest Film Festival in Los Angeles, now running through July 22. The film is co-directed by Broadway's Michael Urie and Sean Fornara, and focuses on a unique acting competition, in which students act out short plays, playing all the parts without props or costumes. The documentary follows a group of students, teachers and parents to debate tournaments all over Texas, exploring the talent and commitment that makes their success possible. Get a first look at the trailer for the film below!

Michael Urie made his Broadway debut as Bud Frump in the recent revival of HOW TO SUCCEED IN BUSINESS WITHOUT REALLY TRYING, opposite Nick Jonas and Beau Bridges. He recently starred as Yepikhodov in the Classic Stage Company’s production of Anton Chekhov's The Cherry Orchard and the Signature Theatre Company’s revival of Angels in America as Prior Walter, as well as the 2009’s The Temperamentals, in which he originated the role of Rudi Gernreich and received a Lucille Lortel Award for Outstanding Lead Actor.

Urie has worked with The Nerve Ensemble at HERE, The Foundry, HB Playwrights, and in WTC VIEW during the Fringe Festival, which went on to become a film from director/writer Brian Sloan. His regional theatre credits include Dickie and Babe at The Blank Theatre in LA, Horatio in Dan Sullivan’s Hamlet at SCR, The Old Globe, Seattle Rep, DC’s Folger Theatre, Barrington Stage, and Austin’s Hyde Park Theatre. Michael has appeared at The Triad Theatre as Miley Cyrus, David Cassidy, Kenny Loggins, Tommy Lee and sometimes Lance Bass in the hilarious Celebrity Autobiography. With producing partner Glenn Meehan, he is co-founder of UR-MEE productions.

The actor can also be heard as the voice of Sebastian in Beverly Hills Chihuahua, and starred on the ABC series Ugly Betty. He directed the upcoming independent film, He’s More Famous Than You and will soon be seen as the star of the new CBS comedy series Partners.
