Beautiful - The Carole King Musical, about the early life and career of the legendary and groundbreaking singer/songwriter, will begin previews on Broadway at the Stephen Sondheim Theatre (124 West 43rd Street) on Thursday, November 21, 2013, with an official opening night set for Sunday, January 12, 2014, following its World Premiere this fall at San Francisco's SHN Curran Theatre (September 24 - October 20, 2013). DreamWorks Theatricals and Neal Street Productions, Ltd. are presenting SHREK THE MUSICAL, with book and lyrics by David Lindsay-Abaire and music by Jeanine Tesori, at the San Diego Civic Theatre through Sunday, July 10, 2011. Performances began July 5.

An entirely new musical, SHREK THE MUSICAL is based on the story and characters from William Steig's book Shrek!, as well as the Dreamworks Animation film Shrek, the first chapter of the Shrek movie series. SHREK THE MUSICAL tells the story of a swamp-dwelling ogre who goes on a life-changing adventure to reclaim the deed to his land. Joined by a wise-cracking donkey, this unlikely hero fights a fearsome dragon, rescues a feisty princess and learns that real friendship and true love aren't only found in fairy tales.
